Iain Robson 379 was discontinued in 2007, and the 389 then took its place. Lots of people confuse them because there are kits to make the 389 look like 359s, 379s, etc. 389 is more modern, has a more stubby hood, different stacks, factory options, interior, mirrors, etc. An expert like myself (not bragging but I know trucks extremely well) can tell the difference by small details.

Jeff Favignano, Most likely what happened was that her BIOS was most likely setup to read your usb drive BEFORE it reads your hard drive for the operating system. Some are. Her BIOS Start-up start up was most likely 1. USB 2. Hard Drive 3. CD-Rom etc etc. So if that ever happens to her again, you or anyone else reading this. First make sure there isnt anything connected in the usb slot or n e thing in the cd drive. IF for some reason you or someone runs into the issue as your wife did. Then next time just boot into the BIOS and make sure that your hard drive is 1st on the list for it to read from. Hope this made since to everyone. Why do you start in 1st gear? You should only use that gear if you are starting on a hill. Try starting in 3rd.

Kevin Helseth It’s not 1st, In an 18 It’s Low, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and then go to the high side. In an 18 you spilt every gear. LL and LH are for hills. If you are loaded, start in 1st, bobtailing start in a higher gear.

If you look up ATS Mods on google I say look at the 1’s under atsmodding some of them are scs and zip mods but some will appear as rar mods but you can put them in a mod folder and go to the mod manager to add them but as long as their scs and zipped folders you can use them but if they show up in your downloads as a zip folder extract then cut and paste the mod into the mod folder for ATS

Hey Jeff, I have the Peterbilt 379 as well. It starts with a 380 HP Cat Motor. I have tried different motors and they sound TERRIBLE in this truck. The Cat motor sounds the best. P.S.:Thanks for "showcasing" this truck in your iRacing Twitch Stream when we crashed, the next day I found the mod and loaded it in the game. Best mod ever!

hey jeff. missed the ats vids...kona great game btw..also a little fyi..your wing on your 379 is called a turbo wing and the reason that is is that's the manufacturer of it..Just a short but of edumacation lol also on the 379 those are the west coast mirrors..my very favorite in RL as they stick out so far it let's you get a better view when blind siding in holes. agreed ya need that track ir cause they do stick out so far..keep up the great vids..bring farm sim over to the channel bud would love to see it and great code zero vids...sarge been bustin balls

About the USB issue, it sound's to me like the bios was trying to use the USB port as a boot device which since there was a broken USB in it, it was probably causing issues. so unplugging USB from the motherboard was probably the best choice for fixing that issue. :D

I used to play this a lot when it first came out... I was in my Modded Peterbilt daycab that I had almost paid off, north of Tonopah headed to Jackpot on a short run... I had the hammer down rolling coal making up some time... my wife said something to me from the kitchen, I looked at her while she was talking because women like that kind of dumb shit... I was on a straight road, and I still had a hand on the wheel.... but all of a sudden my wheel vibrated and I looked back at the screen but it was too late, my fanatec wheel jerked violently and then stopped... I had crossed the double yellow line and hit a red sedan head-on(apply directly to the forehead)... I lost the load, and my truck, just when things were going good for me in the game and I was pulling in a bunch of money.... I just hit escape, knowing that I had really messed up.... God.... that must have been months ago now.

Her computer was probably trying to "boot from disk", only the disk it was booting from was the usb drive that had been destroyed. Thus by not having the computer able to recognize the drive you solved the problem.

A lot of the modded trucks don't work and cause crashes. Or conflicts with other trucks. Like one I installed removed the default Peterbilt 579 day cab option in the truck dealership. And another knocked another model off in it's place. And usually the websites which host them don't give you any idea of which ones work and which ones don't.

I had one which made me crash as soon as I tried to upgrade any truck. So basically either install one at a time to see if you get problems or use someones list of mods they already weeded through. The other thing is when you change the trailers around with a bunch of modded ones, it messes up what you can haul with hazmat permits. I installed some stand alone modded trailers and then I could no longer haul nitrocellulose--which pays real well.
