Hyvä video. Olen ulkomailla asuva suomalainen, ja ikävä salmiakkia! Oli kiva katsoa salmiakin maistelujasi. 😃 Suomi-englanti yhdistelmä toimii myös hienosti! Puhut tosi hyvin suomea.

Kiitos paljon! Se oli jännittävä että ma voin ostaa Salmiakki netissä Yhdysvalloista. En ole juurikaan harjoitellut kirjoittamista, joten tästä kommentista on hyödyllinen minulle.

I might have missed it in the video, but I'd be curious to know why you decided to learn finnish and why you are interested in finnish things like salmiakki. Ad a random finn going around youtubes, I really appreciate the effort in any case. Sisu is the absolute best. They have many different flavors. Sisu Roihu being my favorite atm. The initial salt kick really wakes you up and then it's that nice smooth liquorice/salmiak flavor afterwards. Cheers.

Great question! I don't have an answer for my "why," but I'll tell you this, Finnish always puts me in a good mood, and the language feels inherently correct to me. So I'm just following my instincts. Haha that's great you wake up to Salmiakki! Cheers!

Pro tip: Salty licorice and regular too goes great with milk, or even better, vanilla ice cream.

@@koditjavuoret i have no idea personally. i just like salmiakki, but just look up the 'koira joke' and i think you'll get an idea of how complex it gets. Very expressive tongue

You speak Finnish like if you've been living in Finland for years. And you kept on finding the Finnish words even while tasting salmiakki. That Gifu is actually Sisu. Those old letters are confusing. They've thrown salmiakki into everything and flavored salmiakki Eg. with mint and tar, so if one doesn't categorically dislike the taste of salmiakki, there's probably some salmiakki products one likes.

Kiitos paljon!!! That's a very interesting point about all the variations of salmiakki products, so I must like salmiakki in one form or another, and I can't believe I didn't see the Sisu in that haha

As a kid i already eat Salmiakki, in Dutch Salmiak. Love it, but dont eat too much.

I had no idea the Dutch have it too!

@@koditjavuoret I think Salmiak and salty liquorish is something of the more northern countries. Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, A bit of Deutschland and The Netherlands. I dont know if people from Scotland and Iceland are also.

Suomi kuulostaa ihan hyvältä. But Americans seem to put weight in the middle or the end of the words when speaking Finnish, and it actually should always be on the first syllable on all words. And tip to American speakers: The slower you speak, better it sounds. Pretty much everyone speaks too fast.

Thank you for your encouragement and advice! That's the first I heard about that pronunciation tip.
