When people start to follow music internally vs just Western acts, you begin to really see how many big artists are out there outside of the States. You are right, they (BTS = Bangtan Sonyeondan) are the biggest group out there :D It is still possible to not have heard of them, but they have the biggest fan base called “ARMY”, us. They are a seven member group from South Korea. They are great singers, dancers, Performers and beside that very very nice and humble people who love their fans! Jungkook (short: JK) is the youngest member of the group, the main singer and one of the lead dancers. He is amazing! I think two of the best songs to introduce BTS to you would be “BTS ‘ON’ Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima” and “Black Swan” :)

Let’s just say that his group sells out stadiums. And to not be an English speaking act, doing that is INSANE. They sold out Sofi Stadium in CA in minutes. The first act PERIOD to sell out 4 nights there. And what’s even more crazy is that they had a livestream of the concert at the KZbin Theatre that’s beside Sofi that ALSO sold out. Folks paid good money to go and watch the concert BE STREAMED. High demand doesn’t even describe what it’s like trying to get tickets to their shows. It may seem like a bold statement, but it is not. BTS are the biggest global group, with about 900 awards under their belt. They even beat the Beatles chart record. They have been going since 2013, and are a South Korean group of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. All 7 members have solo projects as well as being part of the group. However, they have the biggest fan base in the world also, about 90 million, called Army. You will probably have heard the 3 english songs they did on the radio, but their best work as a group is in Korean, so turn on closed captions, as their lyrics are very meaningful. The songs in english were quite 'poppy' and made to cheer fans up during the pandemic. Other genres they cover are rap, hip hop, latin pop, edm, ballad, plus more. Jungkook did make his album in english and Jimin also has a recent album with a couple of english tracks. Just to give you an idea of people they have collaborated with (either solo or as a group), as well as Usher, there is Halsey, J Cole, Coldplay, Sia, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Puth, Steve Aoki, Anderson Paak, Wale, Warren G, Fall Out Boy, Lil Nas X plus more. In fact, apparently Usher asked Jungkook to collaborate on his song (Jungkook's) as his son is a big fan of BTS. They are all currently undertaking their mandatory military service, but will be back together in mid 2025 (apart from Jin, who has just been discharged). The have a vast back catalogue of music, of about 300 songs.

Currently 6 of the 7 BTS members are in the military. The first one (Jin) was discharged in June 2024 and the second one (J-Hope) is getting out on October 17, 2024. The remaining five will get out in the June 2025. BTS is coming back in late 2025 and it's going to be amazing. JK is the main vocalist of BTS and is known for being pitch perfect. I think people can still argue on the biggest part but BTS has been breaking records everywhere. Previously they were the 4th most awarded artist behind MJ, Beyonce and TS. I don't know the current number. I can say how big they are is by how fast they are selling their concert. In 2019,they sold out Wembley Stadium and the Rose Bowl in 90 minutes and in 2022, they sold out Sofi stadium in 15 minutes. Getting BTS tickets are like hunger games. Bear in mind that they sang mainly in Korean. If you're curious about their performance, just search for any BTS concert. The latest one is the Busan concert. Last concert out of S. Korea is the permission to dance concert in Las Vegas. This song is part of JK solo projects. All of them been working on solo projects before their military enlistment. I've never seen an artist/s spoiled their fans like BTS. They wrote songs for fans aka army every anniversary. Even they're in the military now, they still continue to release pre recorded contents every few weeks be it musical contents or non musical. Sometimes only days apart. Currently we have 6 episodes of travelog by Jimin and JK and we'll have JK's documentary on his 150 days journey to his solo album. It will hit the cinema by mid September. The rest of the projects haven't been announced. I actually like the original version of this song because I can see the whole choreo better. Btw, the legendary Diana Ross revealed recently that this song is one of her favourite. She said MJ is coming through all the moves. JK also performed dreamers at the opening of 2022 world Cup in Qatar. His other song, seven currently is the fastest song to hit 1B stream on spotify in 108 days. 😂 Don't worry if you don't know who they are...a lot of people don't. I understand that a lot of people look down on BTS because they are kpop thinking they sing meaningless topic. Hey there, I just found your reaction and I really think you would enjoy reacting to another member of BTS as well. J-Hope is a producer, composer, songwriter, dance leader and a rapper of BTS. He has done a song with J.Cole and he gave J.Cole more bars in the song out of respect (as he has been a fan since young). The song is called 'Hope on the street' and it was shot in New York. He also has a really really great old school Hip-Hop Album you could also check out called 'Jack in the box'. Also Jungkook has collaboration songs with other artists such as Kid Laroi, Central Cee, Jack Harlow, Latto, Justin Timberlake, Charlie Puth, Fahad Al Kubaisi, Dj Snake, etc. BTS also have collabs with Coldplay, Megan Thee Stallion, Juice Wrld, Ed Sheeran, Charlie XCX, Zara Larson, Halsey, Steve Aoki, Niki Minaj, HONNE, Jason Derulo, Jawsh, Lauv, etc. Other members individually also have collabs with Erykah Bhadu, Wale, Fall Out Boy, Warren G, Chainsmokers, Becky G, Lil Nas X, Krizz Kaliko, MAX, Halsey, Anderson Paak, Little Simz, Megan Thee Stallion, etc. I really think you should also give RM's album 'Right Place, Wrong Person' a listen. It has been one of the best albums this year and broke records like all of BTS Music does. He is one of the producers, song writers, rappers, and leader of BTS.
