As a Thai, I can say that Pad Krapow with fried egg should be the face of Thailand more than Pad Thai or Tom Yum Goong. Pad Krapow is the most popular food that most Thai people eat every day. We can eat it without getting bored because we can change the main ingredients in many ways, such as Pad Krapow with shrimp, Pad Krapow with crispy pork, Pad Krapow with seafood, etc. 😊

For me, Pad Kaprao is what I usually order when I don't have and idea what to eat😂. And..Yes, with the fried egg on top..Umm..Yummy🤤. I think it's one of the most popular dish in Thailand.

Also “Kard na mor market” has a lot of food stalls. Night market at the front of the university of Chiang Mai. Also check Bamboo Saturday Market (Nana Jungle) if you like baking goods and pastries. There’s new Jing Jai market too into art and crafts and local food and produce.

One of the things that most confuses Thai people is that when an American is asked where they're from, the American will frequently reply with the "state" in which they were from. Since the majority of Thais do not know where the hell it is, it is best to simply say "USA" or "America." and then maybe they can elaborate about the state if they want to. It's kind of like when I travel abroad and someone asks me where I'm from, and I answer with "Nakhon Pathom" instead of Thailand. Confusing, isn't it?

FYI, Suki that you ate is Thai-Chinese style, the sauce base on chilii sauce/garlic/herbs (and fermented beans in Cantonese style). Japanese's Sukiyaki sauce is base on soy sauce/sugar/sake/mirin.
