The new one sounds slightly brighter to my ear. Nice guitars all the same 👍😎

Nice playing! They both sound really good to me. Fender did a great job with the 54 inspired pickups, pretty faithful to the OG while still having some flavor of its own.

Thanks! Yes they both sounded and played great. Was very surprised how close the neck was on the reissue to the original. Are they Identical? No. Are they both Phenomenal guitars? Absolutely! Thanks for tuning in!

The originals pickups are hand wired so none would sound exactly the same anyway.

That original 54 is a hardtail version, though I can discern much difference in sound between the two in this video.

The '54 still has that classic sparkle and clarity, while having a more balanced sound overall, with some warmth in the low end. Sounded killer on the 3rd Stone at the end! New one sounds great too! Makes me wonder what the '54 sounded like when brand new.

I liked the new re issue more..To me it sounded way more full bodied. Do pickups degrade over time? Just thought the old one sounded thin and anaemic by comparison Just on sound alone, I would take tthe new ne any day

Like Darrenhunt7838 mentioned. The AV2 is definitely brighter. How about the physical aesthetics? Which is lighter and are the neck the same feeling and finish?

Can you tell me what effects were available in 1954? (hint: nothing that you just played)

It may be better, but I can’t afford it.

I'd hate to have to live on the difference.

dont put the pick in your mouth, it can cause throat cancer from the metal residue on the pick
