In Michigan we have Malt Vinegar on the tables at restaurants and if not "physically ON the table" MOST restaurants do have Malt Vinegar because we eat ALOT of fresh water fish because of being surronded by the Great Lakes 😀😀 AND we do call it Fish and Chips and the "chips" are usually a bigger cut style of potato similar to the British style of Fish and Chips 😊

Im sorry to say but fish and chips can't be duplicated or copied anyplace in the world. Nobody can make it like the Brits. Ive tried fish and chips in Australia, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland and here where I live. Im Scandinavian but whenever I visit England, the main thing I crave (other than the London red busses, the British accent and and ...) is fish and chips. Its just amazing. Anything "fishy" food is amazing but the classic British non-dry big piece cod with salad-style arranged thick cut chips is literally my fave English dish.
