Notting Hill carnival 2017 police gets owned. Look how stupid they look when they can't answer the questions. PC Watkins was very sweet to me. They end up locking us up for assault on a female and then 20 hours later they let us go and apologize. WTF

@@c.t.1699 Maybe you should learn what “anti establishment narrative” actually means before trying to dish it in a sentence. And no, it’s not a “concept”, it’s litterally just term to describe a narrative. And no, I didn’t say that “wearing a badge makes you innocent” that’s just something you invented out of thin air to support your argument, as you cannot debunk any of my actual points, so you resort to making points up I apparently said (which I didn’t) so they are easier to debunk. It’s very pathetic. Oh, and additionally when all you call me “copsucker” in response to valid critique it just demonstrates you are absent of any actual constructive argument. And finally, you are litterally responding to me specifying that the police won’t fine you for saying stuff on Twitter. Well, they don’t. It’s demonstrable. The only circumstances they may use it as evidence is eg. You murdered someone and posted tweets saying you did it. That’s it. They don’t fine you for exclusively posting something on social media. Acknowledge that or don’t.
@iliyanovslounge
@iliyanovslounge 3 жыл бұрын
@Robin Leijon You are so very ignorant it’s painful. One, clearly you did not watch this video as the police demonstrated with specificity how there is sufficent evidence that they match the description of one of the suspects. So no, there is not “no evidence” that’s just something you made up out of thin air to support your argument. It’s pathetic. 2. Claiming the uk is “stupid” is just a defensive mechanism stupid people use to avoid addressing facts. Nope, sorry, the uk is not “stupid” you just said that because you like the narrative that America is god and every other country is meany mean pants. Again, It’s very pathetic. Stop trying. 3. You use the straw ma n of “there is one white and one black must be racist!” That’s as dumb as saying “whenever a black person does something illegal, the police are racist to take action”. Unless you can demonstrate some actual constructive evidence that the police interrogated him exclusively for his skin colour, then consider shutting the fuck up. It’s pretty clear why you present such a false argument, because you are unable to actually debunk what occured, so your brain makes something up out of thin air so it’s easier to debunk and present it as what actually occured in hope that the person reading didn’t watch the video. And finally, I find it astonishing hilarious how your mind uses cognitive biases to avoid reading critiscm, and only reading comments supporting your anti establishment narrative like a little child. Otherwise you wouldn’t have stupidly responded supporting the persons comment claiming “ThEy CaN FiNe YoU FoR TwItTeR” when I litterally debunked it in my next comment with irrefutable evidence. Avoid speaking publicly in the future. The human race would benefit, little boy.

How disrespectful. These police are trying to protect people like him. An assault had occurred and the police were trying to gain as much information to stop the criminal from committing a crime and is explaining to him what’s happened. He interrupts them. Then he complains that they’re not explaining it to him. He is the uneducated one who thinks people involved in a crime scene can walk away.

I think that that was the perfect punishment for their stupid arrogance they have. As explained, this is not the US. This is the EU. Stuff works differently, cops have way more authority in those countries than you think. Cops can stop you if a crime happened nearby and if you don't want to cooperate then enjoy your stay at the police station with citations that you will need your whole paycheck to pay off. I live in the Czech Republic, the last thing you want to do is piss off a cop. If you don't wanna cooperate then you will bare the consequences.

Being an American you should've known that under Section 24 (3) (b) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984: '[i]f an offence has been committed, a constable may arrest without a warrant- anyone whom he has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be guilty of it' - at that stage of the investigation you clearly met those grounds being at the scene of the alleged offence and the Police not having a more accurate description of the alleged offender. They answered your questions and you didn't like the answers. They attempted on numerous occasions to deescalate the situation and you continued to escalate. If you merely just waited and weren't so aggressive you probably wouldn't have gone into police custody because going by the look at their faces, they wanted to leave the situation more than you did. Did you take up their offer to make a complaint? You did accuse them of unlawfully detaining you. Also, if they let you go to the toilet, you could have disposed of evidence. They don't know who you are or what your involvement is - your aggression and wanting to leave doesn't diminish your suspicion.

Actually, he knows it better than you, and he was correct. The police can detain you for these reasons: PACE stop and search powers. Road Traffic Act powers. Breach of the peace / Prevention of. That's about it, for any other reason then they should arrest you for an articulable offence otherwise your detainment constitutes an illegal arrest - as backed up by caselaw/courts. If you are actually a PC, then you should bloody know this, and probably do but like to ignore it and pretend §44 of the Terrorism act was still available to you to abuse.

A very interesting clip because it illustrates the British model of policing so well. In the UK the police are trained to defuse aggressive situations, and that's exactly what happened here. They continued talking calmly and rationally to someone who I'm afraid was behaving like a prat at the time, and it succeeded. (I'm not especially blaming Rome for his behaviour here, as we all act inappropriately at times. That's why our police are good at handling this type of behaviour - they get so much practice!)

Dude - you'll catch more flies with honey. There's absolutely no need to argue with these cops. I'm Irish, and despite a certain history betwen our countries, I always find British cops very well mannered. They're asking you not to leave the scene of a crime. I strongly suspect that American or Irish cops would have asked you precisely the same thing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why they want potential witnesses to hang around. You may think you didn't see anything significant, but they're paid to make that call and they have to talk to you first. Of course it's an inconvenience if you've some place else to be, but if you'd just been polite to them, you may have had a far better reception if you (after a reasonable period of time) quietly asked if your statement might be taken asap. I'd imagine your mouth may have been the cause of your going to the back of the queue. In America, Ireland, Britain, Russia, or even Timbucktoo, it is never a good idea to argue with cops. They have the power, you don't. Just learn to live with that and your interactions with them will be happier calmer affairs.
