My favorite style just so happens to be the rasbarry wheat ale

This video seemed to focus more on the brewing process than the other 3 and I really enjoyed that :)

Raspberries have one of the lowest sugar content amongst fruits. Its like 4.4 grams of sugar in 100 grams of fruit. I dont think that would make bottles blow up. Im not a pro BTW, just been thinking on it.

Good to know. I created bottle bombs from a Belgian Tripel once and now I'm always concerned about exploding beer :)

You put blackberries in fermentation?
@psychocarl7 ай бұрын
When you add the raspberries to your keg for 3 days, are you using CO2 to carbonate the beer at the same time ?

Hey brother, I'm at the point where I'm starting to buy 55 pointed bags of grain. Any advice, what I mean is. How can I tell if I got a bad bag. There been times my supplier, which is several because I buy what's on sale. I've got rye with absolutely no smell, than a week later. I'm sure because I keep my basement 55% to 65%. Keep the humidity down. It's heavier with a dirty cloth smell. It seems only time I have this problem is with stale product. Any suggestions. My grains stay in 3-30 gal. Barrels. Only have a problem with beer making. My liquor doesn't seem to mater after distilling.

Loving all your videos! Weird question: Is your wife also from UK and losing her accent? Or has your accent rubbed off on her in some words?

Really enjoying your Homebrew Challenge. Where do you get the screw top storage containers?

What water additions did you use? I saw you mixed Gypsum, Epsom and Calcium Chloride at the beginning but you didnt show the amounts like in your other videos. Really enjoying your challenge.

How do you account for the impact of raspberry juice on abv? I want to make this with/for my partner. She mainly leaves brewing as my hobby but is very supportive so want to make this with her as a thank you, but I want to get it right and don't want to accidentally brew it too strong.
@rickfoss1136 Жыл бұрын
As long as your adding the fruit additions to the keg and chill it right away the temp will be to cold for yeast to convert any sugars so your abv should not change.

Do you live in NC? Over the past 4 videos you’ve interviewed a guy from Cary and tasted a beer from Trophy (Raleigh)

LOL yes I do. Cary.

How much hulls did you use, weight even roughly, i dont have any just want to know how much to buy? Would you suggest using less raspberries and earlier in fermentation ?
@TheHomebrewChallenge5 жыл бұрын
I think I used a half pound (which is a lot given how light they are). The raspberry flavor mellowed quite a lot after another week or so. So would probably use a similar number of raspberries again.

@@dimash244 I made a raw wheat beer in the summer with Voss and Citra hops, it was great! Accidentally got higher efficiency and attenuation than expected so my 4.7% intention became 6.2% but drank like it was juice, very dangerous. Seems to have gone downhill after 3 months, think it's just that the hops have faded than due to it being a raw beer.
@dimash2444 жыл бұрын
@@TheDireWookie thanks for reply. I will be making strawberry wheat beer, like fruili brand, using voss, in the next couple days. glad i saw your reply, will use citra as well :)

So you hit 29A here. Gonna try 1D again? Only half serious. Your videos are awesome but your not really nailing these styles. Don't mean to be a dick. Really cool vids and series regardless.

Haha indeed. Knocked off wheat and fruit beer. But needs must for that one. More wheat beers to come

Have you considered returning your used groundwater back into the ground, instead of flowing it through the drainage system? That way you can feel less guilty about using up groundwater, since you are immediately returning it right back.
