I love this, North Carolina is a wealth of battle sites. I've only been to Moores Creek NBP but my Scotch Irish Ancestors fought there. My 6th and 7th Great Grandfathers were patriots near Philladelphia.

Excellent visit my wife and I made several years ago. My 6xgreat grand father Enoch Pugh (Welsh ancestry) was one of those hanged, I have a 6x great Enoch Hutchins killed by Indians in his front yard in Kittery Maine, Point is never name your kid "Enoch". By the way there is a list of names in one of the books. You left out the large numbers of Scots and Welsh,

I’m a descendant apparently of one of the Ringleaders, Major Thomas Lloyd. He was not well liked in that area but somehow didn’t lose his property and he lived around there until after the Revolution

Born and raised in Alamance county. My family arrived in New Jersey in 1695, then traveled down from Virginia to the wilderness of Ashe County. Did my family fight in the Regulator movement...unknown.

Sure the hardwood trees would have been used to build ships... maybe you could explore how the local resources were used to fight the Revolution. Iron production, powder, etc? Wars are fought on logistics.

My great great great grandfather was a captain of this militia, he was disemboweled and hung in front of his family by governor tyron, While in immense pain, he sang out psalms from the Bible before he was dropped to hang. Tremendous courage. I’m a grandson of one of his 7 children.

Interesting. That would be the only person disemboweled as punishment in the later 18th century British colonies... if its true....
