These areas must not be developed or built upon in any way shape or form these battle grounds are haunted by the dead remembering everyone we are looking at graveyards here. Thousands died and a lot of spirits are left roaming the area

So cool as we live just east of Marietta. We have park passes and hike this mountain often. The trenches are still there. The railroad is still in the same place just at the bottom of the mountain and it is very busy. You can clearly hear the train up on the mountain.

National parks don't need passes. Free to all.

Been there many times. Used to go to Atlanta on occasion for business so always tried to make a stop there. Spent many a lunch just sitting at Cheatham Hill looking out at the Union assault path.

You hit it on a fairly clear day. Every time I've ever been there. It was foggy and overcast. I've heard you can see Stone Mountain from the top of Kennesaw. I've never seen it. But, I haven't had a clear view.,

I was there a few days ago, it's cool how they still have the cannons on display there and the fences still up

The Cannon emplacements and cannon`s are not where they were originally. Evidence suggests there were no Cannons on the very top during the battle. The dirt to construct the emplacements was brought to the top of the Mt. by military helicopter in the 1960`s. I still have the newspaper story with photo of helicopter lifting a cannon to the top. The original earthworks housing the battery was destroyed when they built the parking area and turn around. The path the Confederate Artillery men took to get the cannons up there follows the line where the Confederate Infantry trench goes up the Mt.

Any estimate of how much (Sherman) rail traffic (# trains, length, etc.) was needed for support at this stage? What/who stays behind to protect the rail line as Sherman advances?

At some point would you please show us the views from the CSA batteries from the military crest and not just the view from the topographical crest.
