on a 2015 and up, pop the black blinker centers out, remove the plastic engine cover and put a hell cat airbox lower with the cold air tube that hooks to the back of the blinker for ram air and it really will sound mean.

Yeah, put that air filter right next to the 200 degree overflow tank - so much for cold air. The tubes are nicer than stock for sure, but I'd use them with a Hellcat airbox long before I'd use that shield and air filter.

The stock box is designed to bring air from the bottom which is better than this. save money and buy a high performance or high flow filter and just change the filter inside the stock box

@@Thatguy1306n K@N high flow is what I stuck in mine. Bought a Hellcat airbox with a airflowtube for the headlight. Went from a 6 flat to a 5.8 with filter alone. The box put me at 5.6 consistently. Grabbed a 5.4 by throwing everything out and running on fumes. Basically a closed Cai.

great video, quick question... would the headlight duct tube work with this configuration? i was also thinking about not even including the duct tube, simply removing the cap would increase air flow. i would have to worry about debris though...

I own a 2015 Challenger SXT plus and your claim of 14 HP???...is outrageous...show me the proof...more like 2 or 3 HP.

Cold air intakes are a gimmick, unless you calibrate it with a dyno test. About 40% of users actually complain about HP loss after installing.

@@loganallen3474 Hey bro, I still have my SXT..as a matter of fact Ill never sell it..been one of the if not the best car ive ever owned. I took it to the local drag track last sept and the car ran a 14.2 @98 MPH after I changed the plugs...and they needed it believe me (only has 126000 kms on it). That is fast for this car...I was surprised...I would be really interested in gains you might make but it would have to be real like taking the car to the track and seeing the difference...let me know!

This looks good. I found out the hard way that the airtight stock filter box is designed to sell replacement engines. I drove through water that was about a foot to foot deep. A low place on the road that I had driven through before in other vehicles. Eased through it with no problem, but when I was climbing the hill coming out of the water I started to speed up. The water was probably not more than 8 inches deep at that point. I gave it a little throttle, heard a loud clatter, and BAMB! Im buying a new $8000 dollar engine. Actually, Allstate is 80% for the engine and I am paying about 20% for the depreciation on the original. First off in hindsight, I should not have driven through the water. Secondly, Dodge your stock filter box designed is horrible. Truly sucks donkeys. I love my Challenger, but a different air intake/filter is needed if there is any chance that you will have to drive through water. As much as I like keeping my car all factory, I will be buying a cold air intake of some brand when I get the car back next week. I would like the MOPAR, but Dodge is already getting enough of my money this month.

damn. Sorry to hear that. fucking terrible. thanks for sharing that. I was on the fence with a CAI for my challenger but now I'm going to go ahead with it. I actually drove through some dangerously deep water during a storm recently and was freaking out. luckily no damage. I think.

Went through the same thing during tropical storm Imelda here in Texas. The placement of the air intake on these things are ridiculous. I currently own a 2015 Charger SXT, and after taking the oil pan off, discovered I shattered a piston and con rod. I 100% advise making a project out of this problem to anyone reading this. I got lucky and didn't even spend a whole grand rebuilding the engine from the bare block, but that's because I rebuilt it myself so was able to save A LOT on labor. Sorry this happened to you man, but we learn from the bad times most

@@702xRyder Yes, that is correct. The CAIs have seal around the top that the hood rest on, but it is not in anyway airtight.

The actual arm on this one isn't bad very smooth transition no sharpe turns or angles long sweep arm but the shitty open filter negates that

Yes, but everything I’ve read on our 3.6 Pentastar engines says this will only improve engine sound, not performance. They’re already breathing exceptionally well.

Cleaning requirements will likely vary depending on how dusty your filter gets and how often you drive. I recommend checking it every oil change just to keep an eye on it and cleaning it whenever it looks visibly dirty. Around every 20,000 miles or so. -Zach
