One of the biggest differences I've noticed between the US and Europe is just how friendly people are to strangers here in the US. I don't know if it's just a Texas things but people are so hospitable, friendly and talkative here.
Watch this video to find out what the major differences I've noticed since moving to the USA between the people and the way people treat each-other!

What is so interesting to me is that I often hear Europeans say that the friendliness of Americans is fake, it's just to get a tip. Well, as you have testified to here on your video, it's not fake and there is no reason for it other than people are friendly. Not everyone is friendly, of course, but most are.

Yea here in America you will have thousands of random in depth conversations with total strangers and never see them again. Thats why I think so many Europeans think we are fake because we don't carry it on into a friendship, especially when we travel. We just enjoy the moment and accept that we will probably never meet again.

I wonder if that comes from our pioneer heritage. That our ancestors would have these friendly, random encounters as everyone was Westward bound. With the knowledge that you may bump into this stranger in the future, or you may not. And that either way was fine.

I'm so glad to hear that you and Tasha are feeling welcomed. I think Americans are genuinely friendly. Maybe its because the culture allows for everyone to be themselves and create their own life. I lived in France for 6 years. I always felt like their interactions were very socially prescribed and it was too much of a risk for them to not follow the conventions and choose their own way. What I like about the U.S is that anyone can come here and decide to stay and they are considered an American. In France, I knew I'd never be considered a real part of the country.

Small talk, politeness and good manners are very regular and normal in most places in the United States. For many outsiders who come here, the small talk aspect of the culture is a big turnoff - they don't see the necessity for it. But for us, it's about being friendly, genuinely interested in others, and above all, being polite. We're all in this country and world together - why not be pleasant about it? It is the Golden Rule, too. You are both very welcome - good luck in everything 🙂

There are different versions of it. I have heard the south can have a fake element (perhaps to ppl they don't like lol), new Englanders are vert up front, Midwesterners can be more reserved but very hospitable, the west is more laid back about everything.

It’s the golden rule. Treat others as you want to be treated. And the friendliness goes beyond smiles and hellos. I can’t tell you how many customers in different stores have helped me out. From getting a product from a high shelf I couldn’t reach, to actually pushing my grocery cart to my car and unloading my groceries for me! Both men and women have done this for me. And then there’s the folks who are in the checkout line with a load of groceries. If they notice the person behind them only had a few items, will let that person go first. Another thing is, if the person checking out lacks a few cents, or even a couple of dollars, the person behind them will help out. I could go on and on about the random acts of kindness that people do. For some of us it’s just a way of life. I’m thrilled y’all are here and getting a lot of experience with the friendly people here. And if you do come across someone who isn’t as friendly, don’t take it personally. They may be having a really bad day. Anyway, again, welcome to TEXAS!!!

The two of you are so adorable. Thank you so much for taking us along on your journey to our country. Your enthusiasm is so infectious. Having been born and raised in the United States, it's easy to begin taking our Country for granted. Experiencing it through fresh eyes has given me a wake-up call. We are all truly blessed to live in the United States. I lived in a suburb of Dallas for over 10 years. I raised my son's in Texas. I've been gone from Texas for many years now, but I'm actually going to be traveling back through Dallas at the beginning of March. I'll be there to spend a few days with my 3 grandsons. God bless the 2 of you. I pray that you will always love living in the United States as much as you love it today. ❤

It's generally true about the nice thing. Literally the other day I was in a Dollar Store and the lady in front of me bought like $200 worth of stuff...which was insane. She could not make one trip with one cart to her car, so she was going to have to take one cart and leave another cart to then come back for the rest of her stuff. I literally just offered to roll her second cart so she wouldn't have to make two trips. People have done plenty of stuff like this for me being a total stranger and it's like Texas code to pay it forward or lend a hand when you can.

Hi Mikey, I am so happy that you guys are enjoying your experience here in the US. It makes me feel good as an American that this is the most powerful impact that we have had on you. When someone here asks you " how's your day going? " We are asking because we genuinely want to see that you are having a good day. It's something that makes me very proud that this has been your experience with us! You never know what effect a simple kind word can make on a stranger. It can in some cases be the difference in someone's life that will truly make a life or death difference! It doesn't cost anyone a cent to smile and say hello, but the rewards you feel even better if you find out that it is the one thing that has made someone's day better. Welcome to the States, I am so happy to be one more voice in the crowd that makes your choice to move here fulfill your dream. I truly hope that you continue to have as your experience. Protect themselves from what? Other crazies with guns? Any of us can get angry - if there are guns around, angry can end up in someone, or many someones, getting killed. People with guns often put themselves in dangerous situations and places because they figure they can take care of threats to their lives. Makes no sense unless you’re a police officer or soldier.

People talking to others was essential in America history because the Europeans came here as immigrants and in order to assimilate they had to learn about others cultures food and religion and their experiences, people helped the people who came after them, it was not easy to do, People have compared America to a salad it has its own separate parts but it works together, it makes it better and stronger. Communication is key to understanding.

It's really fun to hear about y'alls experiences here! I am the opposite of y'all, a Texan (from Dallas) who travels often to Europe, and sometimes I forget these differences between the two and will start talking instinctively with the cashiers in Germany and Italy... and while they do usually look at me strangely at first, often times, I have found that they do actually enjoy the short conversation (as they are chunking my food to the bagging area like they are shooting off a cannon haha), and we often leave with a smile, a wave, and a goodbye! My German friends that I am with are usually mortified and embarrassed by me talking with strangers, and then find it really cool and exciting at the end that we actually had a fun little conversation with a stranger haha. And I've even been surprised when coming back a year or two later, and the same cashier remembers me and says, "Hey! You're the guy from Texas!" and strikes up the conversation with ME! haha

I think most Americans are genuinely fascinated by people from other places. Most of us have also been raised with a sense of hospitality and making "strangers" feel welcome (especially in the south). You see it even between Americans between the different states. When my husband and I see someone from another state we'll ask them questions and give suggestions about things to do here in WV. When we travel to other states the locals will do the same. Glad you're enjoying your experience! Welcome. ☺

It is truly amazing and quite intriguing to hear someone say and appreciate what we take for granted every day. For us this is normal, even to the extent to being taught in school at an early age. I can remember being taught to smile, have good posture, always show kindness, to always look out for others...I also remember thinking these were all common sense...lol. Here, kindness is a way of life, granted not everyone got the memo...lol. Thank you for reminding us all how fortunate we all are. As a disclaimer, I would like to point out that these things that were taught to me at a very young age, were taught quite a long time ago being as I attended grade school in the 80's...I have no idea how it is today. I hope you have good virtue in all of your future endeavors. Great video!!, thank you for sharing.

Truth is most of us love seeing people from around the world enjoying our country. We are proud of what our forefathers built here and it's very gratifying to see people happy to be here. Most of us, love the UK and Britain. I personally love the fact Britain is our closest and most trusted ally. Britain always has America's back and we always have Britain's back. For example, immediately following 9/11, Britain sent commandos into Afghanistan, where they gathered Intel for America. Nobody asked them to do it. They just did. On their way out these, I believe it was 6 British cammandos were ambushed by over 100 Taliban. They fought killing many of the enemy and all escaped with invaluable Intel on the terrorists. Friends for life.

You’ll find NYC similar to London in some respects, not as friendly either. I think we are more friendly, especially out west, because there is so much land and it was and some still is, quite isolated, so social interaction was special. Older members of my family told me that American friendliness is a product of having immigration from so many places. In the urban areas, they might have lived in ethnic neighborhoods and even continued speaking their birth languages, but they settled in communities with a mix of cultures and languages. Therefore, "neighborliness" aka being friendly and respectful was very important. My father had a funny story about his much-older brother coming home for a visit after working in a copper mine; family member couldn't understand him speaking in English because he'd been working with Cornish immigrants and picked up their pronunciation!

Yes Americans are more friendly in general and probably just a little more in Texas. You will enjoy that alot here. Making new friends in Texas should be easy for you both. Just let the American initiate the conversation and roll with it. Then before you know it, you will be invited to their homes and barbecues come summer. Just remember the blazing sun comes in May and doesn't let up for 4 months. You better get ready for that. The HEAT is crazy in Texas and you better stock up on sunscreen and your swim trunks. Check the cost of your electricity per kilowatt hour as your air conditioner will run almost continuously from late May to early September. Ask around with your neighbors what they are paying during the hot months so you can pay your AC bill. LOL

I spent three weeks staying with an English family in London (became long distance friends with the daughter). They made me so welcome, but the all had school or work save for her mother so almost every day I rode the train into Victoria Station to spend the day exploring the city. I always got a scone and tea from a shop there and after a few days the girl at the counter got used to seeing me and ask where in The States I was from (California) and we had a very nice conversation since she had been there. She was literally the only person in London I had a friendly interaction with... and she was Irish! Not a single English/British person really responded to my American friendliness during that 3 weeks in London. Just the girl from Ireland! 😂 They weren't rude or mean, just very reserved. Again though, my friend's family was wonderful.

I live in Florida and for the most part, Americans are very interested in foreigners and are genuinely friendly.

Welcome to the states, so glad you’re enjoying your time here. Texas is a really special state, they are a treasured member of the Several States. We are coming to their aid from here in Virginia as are many states to protect from invasion. I was really starting to feel taken advantage of by people who don’t respect our front door and the big wide welcome mat that we have - instead they want to sneak in the back without permission. 😔Thank you for reminding me why we still want to keep our doors open. ❤

We're friendly and curious folks here in Missouri. People don't smile as much in Northern States though, maybe it's the weather and work atmosphere, but the people are still probably more friendly than most in other countries.

I'm so glad you are meeting us. It is just normal to talk to each other. I read the other day that in Europe and the UK it isn't normal to smile at each other as we walk passed. We always do. It is how we were brought up.

This is the first of your videos that've seen. I'm sure you've been told "welcome to America", but you didn't mention it so WELCOME TO AMERICA!! lol I've watched a lot of videos of foreigners who've traveled to America, and never once has anyone said Americans are not friendly. Every one of them said the same thing you're saying, and it's a compliment to Americans. One of the KZbinrs I watch is L3WG. He's a Brit dying to come eat all of America's food. I seriously wish I could give him an all expense paid trip. I'll be checking out your other videos. Again, whether you've been told or not, welcome to America. Sending love from Illinois.

Great video. I always get a little bummed out when people say they "hate" small talk. I mean I'm an anxious person, I get it, but I love small talk. It's how I've met some of my closest friends. It's amazing the conversations you can have if you just put in a little effort.

Hello. Just subscribed. Love your channels. I'm also subscribed to your reaction channel, though have never commented. Decided I would here. I'm currently living in and from the state of Idaho. Which may change someday soon. I'm a lover of history and the paranormal. Been to some historical places like Alcatraz, Tombstone, and Gettysburg. I've seen the actual Bonnie and Clyde death car which is in Primm, Nevada on the California/Nevada border. Welcome to America and I look forward to your journey in becoming Americans.

I haven't been to Europe, only Asia. I have noticed they often keep to themselves. Over here, you can strike up conversations with a lot of different people on elevators, in stores, at gas stations, just about anywhere. There are some who are anti-social, but they're a rare breed.

Have a cousin in Katy and my college girlfriend was from there. Ask around for the locals: in the 80s there were still rice fields there. Maybe some still slightly west now, Brookshire. There are still many about 120 miles due east, Beaumont area off I-10. Very diverse state. All pine trees in East 1/3

Welcome home, Mike and Natasha, from Chicago! You'll both be a big hit! You're good-looking and we Americans love foreign accents. Many of us consider Britons as our sort of oversea cousins, so you may find that hold a place in many of our hearts. So happy that you chose to join us! May God always protect and bless you both.
