Americans Celebrate First Philippines NYE With 134,000 Filipinos

Our very first New Year's Eve in the Philippines was spent in Manila with our best friends at the ‪@MomDuty‬ channel. Follow us as we prepare for the pre-party at their BGC condo and then head to High Street for the concert and fireworks!
Remember to use ‪@titosvodka‬ for the best vodka cocktails, like our Champagne Cosmopolitan:
A light and sparkling take on one of our favorite cocktails, the cosmopolitan. Tips for making this for a crowd are below. If you prefer slightly sweeter cocktails, consider add dash of simple syrup to the cocktail. One 750-ml bottle of champagne will serve 10 to 12 people.
You Will Need (Makes 1 drink):
1 1/2 ounces vodka (we like Stoli, Grey Goose and Ketel One)
1/2 ounce triple sec or Grand Marnier
1/2 ounce cranberry juice
1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
Dash simple syrup or agave, as needed, see our recipe for making simple syrup
Ice
2 ounces chilled dry champagne or sparkling wine
Directions:
1. Combine vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, lime juice, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake until very cold. Taste and if the mixture seems to tart, add a dash of simple syrup or agave.
2. Pour into a chilled martini glass then top with champagne or sparkling wine.
Tips:
Make multiple drinks: If you are making for a crowd, add enough of the vodka mixture without the champagne for multiple people to a large pitcher, stir and refrigerate until cold. When you are ready to serve, divide between glasses and finish with chilled sparkling wine (or champagne).

Honestly, if you'd ask my personal opinion, the best way for you guys to experience what Filipino New Year celebration is, is to go out into the streets of the town, and set off firecrackers and fireworks, just like what thousands of us do! If that ain't your cup of tea, then join in our merrymaking, blow trumpets and make alot of noise while watching the rest of us set off dozens, if not hundreds of fireworks. Filipinos believe that the detonations and the light and smell of firecrackers drive away evil spirits and bad vibes prior to the arrival of the New Year, plus it's fun. But of course, we're extra careful not to end up in the hospital due to injuries caused by firecrackers. Then try our food. Filipinos practically load the table with food for the Media Noche feast which immediately follows the revelry. It's the first meal of the year and everyone does it in hopes of prosperity for the entire year. Even the type of food served during the feast had meaning and loaded with hopes anf wishes everyone hopes for the entire year.

Okay. So it's just fair that I should also drop a comment on here. Because, I dropped a comment on the Ocampo's Vlog, Which I mentioned on their Comment box. I randomly saw your off the grid stay on the water in Coron vlog while in the Phlippines, a year ago. Interestingly enough, I got hooked. I find myself subscribing and began looking forward to more. Similarly, months after, I discovered the Ocampo's Vlog. Which, both I am subscribed to but never saw the connection. Till months later. And I have to say, both your family has been very inspiring in many ways. Specially on me, personally. I'm semi-retired from the US Army. My Family and I are now residing in Angeles City, Pampanga. Although, I seldom, find the time to watch all of your previous uploads, I can say that everytime I open KZbin, Momduty and Alwaysbechanging are the ones that shows. And when I learned, both family's decision to move to the Philippines, it has insanely made me look forwards to the next episodes. Specially, when I saw the episode when the apartment that you guys were set to get, was suddenly turned down. I sympathized with you. Many years living the Philippines, allowed me to have those experiences several times. Also learned, although, I'm from Tacoma, Washington. Big Seattle Seahawks fan, since the Prime Effect have landed in Boulder, I suddenly find myself to be a CU Fan, representing as if I'm from Boulder or some small town like Pueblo, Colorado, lol. Interesting, to find out just recently that you guys are from Denver. Anyways, it may not seem much, but the impact of your vlogs in my daily has generously inspired me personally in many ways. I wish I could share it with you guys, but it would just be too long to say here. As if this isn't long enough. Nevertheless, you may never see it, but the impact is definitely life changing. With that said, I pray that your Family and the Ocampos, will continue to blessed. Not just in 2024, but for may more years to come. What you guys put on here, my seem to be just random videos shared for people's entertainment. But for myself, it's more. A simple thank you is just never enough. Our kids have so many fantastic experiences in our travels (and as kids, they often get bored during those travels, too) but I think hearing your comment gave them a new perspective on the value of our channel.
