Being back in the UK in the fall, we decided we needed to experience our first Christmas market in the UK. The Birmingham Christmas Market is the largest German Christmas Market outside of Germany and Austria and we got a lot of suggestions from our viewers to check it out! We had a lovely time, enjoying the festivities plus food and drink offerings that the Birmingham Christmas Market has to offer.
Is there another Christmas market we should visit? Leave a comment with your recommendations!

@@kimwilliams7051 quite rightly you should be. I was there in September for two days to go to the Photography Show at the exhibition centre and had a great time in Birmingham. I'd been there twice before for a couple of days at a time. I think your city has a lot to offer. This time I enjoyed walking around the canals and ended up at the Mailbox end were my brother and I ate in Zizzis. All the people we met were so friendly. Though they weren't all Brummies lol.

As a proud Brummie, you certainly do! Tonnes of great food, birthplace of the balti, hometown of Cadbury (and as a result, location of Cadbury World), home of the one of the oldest and greatest football teams, Aston Villa, the place that inspired dozens of the things in Lord of the Rings (Tolkein lived here as a kid and used landmarks and the clash between industry and nature in the city for locations and concepts), the home of Black Sabbath, ELO, Duran Duran...

I'm glad you enjoyed the German Markets. I actually live in Birmingham City Centre just off New Street, so the Markets are right outside my front door. It's a love/hate relationship since it gets stupidly busy on the weekend, so going out to do shopping can be a right pain in the backside on a Saturday.

Great to finally get an update on your UK visit. Thought you got lost on the moors when we didn't hear from you. The boot mug is so cute. The Santa was holding a boot jug of mulled wine until someone nicked it. The guy was singing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order.

I’m from Coventry which is right next to Birmingham, I’m very pleased you explored the West Midlands a little, I go over to Birmingham most weekends, my employer is also based in the city centre (but I wfh now) Seems though that you might have missed a big chunk of the market unless you didn’t video it, there’s the section past Victoria square that if you walk to normally has a good selection of stalls, you’ve also got the giant ferris wheel and the outdoor ice rink that they set up in front of the library in an area called Centenary Square. Plus that whole area has been redeveloped

@@TheMagicGeekdom easy to miss to be honest, sometimes you just have to watch the flow of people to notice it. I’m not sure what they’ve done this year because I haven’t yet been but normally it’s hot chocolate, cider, independent beers and a few random stalls you don’t get elsewhere… like you said a lot of the stalls down the main bit sort of repeat and sell similar things. Gives you an excuse to go back at least 😅, I’d recommend venturing that bit further next time and perhaps even going as far as Brindley Place because you’ll see the bars and restaurants by the canals, there’s some nice Xmas lights around there this time of year

Bratwurst in crusty bun is eaten with good medium spicy mustard! And in Potsdam/Berlin for instance you get different things, no Bretzel and Bier/bear. There are more traditional ones and more commercial (which are more and more to be found). Missing lots of food you find normally at Weihnachtsmärkten, but it is interesting to see that they are trying to create a bit of the real thing. Very nice vlog, take care

BTW the Tesco meal deal has Xmas editions of sandwiches, wraps and subs - turkey and stuffing, pigs under blankets, Yule hog wrap (?) and Brie with cranberry.

We really liked the pigs in blanket sandwich! I don't think we filmed trying it, but we ended up having it a couple of times.

Have you seen Trenthem Christmas markete in Stoke on Trent, if not you must visit it. It's like rooming in a makete of Wild West American Markete in 1700's. I live here, I will be happy to accompany you here. Thanks Shaan
