Been to about 20 German Christmas Markets. Collect all the mugs as well. Stollen is awesome with marzipan! As a 1st generation German (parents were German) I buy stollen and other Christmas treats up here in Canada every year. Love all the wooden crafts.

Hi guys, I just want to say that I am a huge fan of your videos and it’s really interesting to see your reactions to a typical German Christmas market. I am from Germany and currently living in Trier (next to Luxemburg). The rain really describes what you need to know about German winter weather (it doesn’t get better until march). When you are looking for another Christmas experience for this year, I really recommend the “Trierer Weihnachtsmarkt” because it is located in one of the oldest German Cities, which was captivated by the Romans many many years ago and is considered one of the prettiest Christmas places in Europe. You can also include other tourist attractions (like the oldest German bridge, the “Porta Nigra”(an old Gateway to the City built by the Romans,…)) to your trip or visit the Christmas market in Luxemburg, which is only a one-hour-drive destination. Just check it out. It is really worth it!!! By the way I am a psychology student and I am going to the US for a couple of months this August to study abroad. Your videos really helped to decide which places I definitely have to visit during my stay in Minnesota. Thanks a lot for that!! Kind regards from Germany, Alice

Hi @rosierose846! Thanks so much for watching! Glad you're enjoying the videos! And thanks for checking out the blog! As far as how many days to spend in each place, that just depends on what you're wanting to do. If you're mostly going for the Christmas markets, I'd say a day or two in each city would suffice. And yes, for our Nuremburg day trip, we were staying in Munich. And when we were in Cologne, we took an evening trip to Dusseldorf. Hope that helps! For our Munich trip, we were there for 3 days with a day/afternoon trip to Nuremburg, and for our Cologne trip we were there for 3 days with a day/afternoon trip to Dusseldorf. Hope that helps! -Matt

Haha… Yea the weather in December can be a little miserable, but you HAVE to visit the Christmas markets! And the only time to do that is in December (or late November)! I will say, it’s not usually that cold… We happened to visit during the coldest week of the year from what the locals told us!🤣🤣 But the cold wasn’t the bad part, it was the rain! Thankfully we had beautiful weather (still cold but beautiful) for our time in Nuremberg which redeemed the entire trip! That video will be out soon! Thanks so much for watching!😊
