Welcome to your Akala journey I respect your reaction so much, this man is like no other.... he’s a poet, lecturer, owns business - Shakespeare hip hop company taking youths around the world raising their profile and spreading his knowledge. He doesn’t get played on radio, the views on his fire in the booths will show you that, he talks truth and he talks to my heart but I’m learning along the way, I’ve followed him for over 10 years, he’s a lyrical genius. Get on part 2 and 4 for sure, also his thieves banquet freestyle! Much love watching you from Northampton UK appreciating your reaction - Akala does not sell out his message is more important ❤️

Thanks bro I appreciate that yea he speaks a lot of truth and they won’t play him on the radio for that reason most likely if I’m guessing cause he exposing what’s really going on

Curtis Cash you are on point with your guess, he calls so many out, you will see as you go through the other fire in the booths. He’s wrote and published his own books as well, I loved your breakdown and interpretation ❤️

Bro your shirt says knowledge is power. That is literally the name of his album from 2012. This man is in a league of his own, the 4th part is the best fitb of all time. Also check out Lowkey, he speaks the same message as Akala.

Glad you reacted to this. The truth is, slavery (and colonialism) morphed into systemic oppression that meant they can still use people as slaves or at least keep people in servitude. The people who were members of the three K's were absorbed into institutions and were hidden in plain sight. Laws and policies are passed and shaped by them too. Redlining, three strikes, 'war on drugs', school to prison pipeline, poor education systems, lack of access to mortgages and loans. It's all by design. We don't need to be hopeless but we do need to tell ourselves the truth. The appearance of dominance/'superiority of one group is directly related and appearance if inferiority of the other. They stand high because they actually stand on us.

Respect mate, glad you have your head screwed on and eyes open. If we all worked and learned together we could honestly change the world. Our government cant allow that otherwise theyd lose their power, enter poverty and crime breeding areas

Slavery wasn't abolished, it was waged and expanded using debt instead of chains to secure much cheaper labour assets because waged slaves are responsible for their own welfare. If ppl reading this think they are "free" and not enslaved, give up working to help your family and see how long your "quality of life" remains the same.

I'm glad I watched this cos of your reaction bro A good honest prospective Were not past the past yet and it seems like there's people in politics who don't want the people to move past it If there's a big race problem and there the political party against racism then they will recieve more votes and be in power With the media on side this can be achieved I think people are waking up to what's going on Real good reaction 👍

I genuinely love and also feel sorta bad for all the Americans discovering people like Akala, Lowkey, Avalino, Ghetts, Wretch32, Ocean Wisdom... No shade to my cousins but American rap has been more about the product and less about the skill and the art for well over 10 years. UK hip hop is where the real moves have been happening for years brudda.

they want the racial tension/war so we are all to busy arguing amongst ourselfs to question them, there's a old saying divide and conquer. I'm not sure if you checked him out yet I will check after I watch your akala reaction but lowkey is another great UK rapper who raps about similar subjects to akala.
