Hopsice is a part of health care which usually focuses on taking care of patiens that cannot be saved. Such as terminally ill cancer patients. Rather than trying to cure them it focuses on improving quality of life for the remaining time. It is a word used in the american language as well.

His specials cover from about 2009-18. He is a comedy host on British comedy game shows. Such as 8 out of 10 Cats; 8 out of 10 Cats do Countdown; Big Fat Quiz of (insert year); I Literally Just Told You So; and numerous TV appearances in variety shows. There are many, many clip compilations from Channel 4. I would highly suggest Jimmy Carr vs Big Narstie clip from The Big Narstie Show. There are a ton of his clips on his KZbin channel

Jimmy Carr is amazing 👏 and something I find alot of reactors are shocked about is how dark our sense of humour is over here in the UK 🤣 I liked how you reacted to this and I agree there are way to many sensitive people these days that can't process jokes and humour 👍

He's not cancelled because his main audience is the UK. Hospice is where you go when you're guaranteed to die soon. Adult or child, but there are also child-only hospice places.
@philipmason95372 жыл бұрын
These are not really his most offensive jokes; his vast repertoire has many others. A good clip for you to watch is Jimmy Carr, Move Along. It’s less than ten minutes long and the second half of it is particularly funny.
@carlhartwell79782 жыл бұрын
He pretty much broke into the mainstream in the early 2000's and has been pretty much constantly on tour ever since (as well as hosting a few fairly successful panel shows, probably the most successful being 8 out of 10 cats, 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown and The Big Fat Quiz...). He's pretty much put a special out every year since he started standup and I'd guess these jokes are taken from a wide variety of those specials ranging from the 2000's and 2010's.
@swanchamp51362 жыл бұрын
I think Jimmy gets away with this kind of humour for a few reasons. Firstly he's done indepth studies of Comedy, it's history, what and why people laugh and the psychology behind it, he did a documentary about it. This means when he crafts jokes he is very careful in what he does making sure it works on the right levels. He's turned it into an art form, he's learned how to be offensive without directly attacking someone or a group that don't deserve it. He can crack 'gay' jokes without attacking people for being gay. Above all he also takes great pains to point out these are just jokes, they are not his views, he is nor being serious and is just trying to get a laugh out of people.
@DudeSaysThings2 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. I just still think it's sad so many people take everything so serious nowadays. That's why I was so impressed he gets away with it

I love how Jimmy often toes the line, and occasionally crosses it. I believe comedy if done right can address any and every subject. It has historically always been a way to address what society can't or won't address. That which is awkward/uncomfortable can be joked about and it will be easier to discuss. I know he has crossed some lines (especially recently), but I also admit he opened a discussions that is often avoided. My brother (RIP) had Duchesne Muscular dystrophy, he often enjoyed comedy that some people considered offensive to disabled people. He didn't care, he found them funny. You don't have to like every joke and you can be offended, but comedy has long been a way to address these things. I love your reactions they are so genuine. Tldr: comedy is a way to express ourselves and safely bring up topics that are often hard to deal with. As such comics like Jimmy Carr, who toe/cross the line are able to help society address what needs to be addressed. Also hospice is end of life care (pretty much). Like my grandpa had hospice care when he was at the end after fighting liver cancer. Hope this made sense I am currently 38 hours without sleep. It might not.

1. A hospice is a place where the terminally ill are cared for in their remaining days. 2. The different Jimmy was Jimmy Saville, a tv show host who was a massive abuser of underaged girls. His crimes came out after he died but a lot of people in show business knew about it and said nothing. 3. You keep missing jokes because you are constantly talking through them reacting to the previous joke.

You should watch his shows directly after his tax issues. He owns it and makes jokes. Fair play to him, he paid an accountant to sort out his tax, the accountant did the dodgy schemes, not him, we’d all pay 2% tax if we could.
