We have a popular saying in india on holi when we put colors on each other wildly & i.e, "Bura naa maano holi hai" meaning "Please don't take offense it's holi"; its a festival with popular social believe that ppl should just get together by forgetting all their complaints, disappointments, grudges, seriousness, sadness, enmity against each other, forgive each other atleast for a day, So ppl get bit wild, loose, carefree aggressive/force putting colors (not in se8ual harassing way) specially on those reluctant for no serious reason, secretly throwing/target full bucket color water or few color water balloons from above the building (balloons can sometime hurt just very little for quick nanosecond),etc wild activities on our homies, buddies, family, acquaintances, strangers passing on street but Non take offense coz its done purely for fun, not to be rude or disrespectful & So We as part of society r just expected to accept it and surrender or even better take part doing same (otherwise just stay home if don't want the craziness) as its just for 1 day, a day of carefree fun, a day of not taking offense, of unseriousness & a day of madness that we should expect from ppl coz on rest of the days they same ppl remain all gud with proper social discipline manners, social distance & respecting ur wishes, opinions, boundaries, personal space,etc etc

We celebrates Holi since our birth 😅. We play Holi more than what you experienced. Holi celebrated as message to leave our ego, sadness and anger. That's why people' faces are covered in colour. Colours covers faces so forget sorrow. And be happy as colours.

let me tell you people who were putting color aggressively wasn't doing because they were rude the real holi in india is pretty aggressive which is played between family members and friends only 3when we meet new people we place tika only respectfully but there are some exception who like to play rough holy with everybody. i hope you don't misunderstand that. i think some indians don't realize holy is preety wild and overwhelming thing for some foreigners

Maybe it seem wild & foreigners may feel disrespectful for aggressively putting colours but for us in india its all friendly, fun and enjoyable holi what indians seek for, it's truly for that carefree fun thing & nothing else, Not really intended to be rude, disrespectful or offensive. We have a popular saying in india on holi when we put colors on each other wildly & i.e, "Bura naa maano holi hai" meaning "Please don't take offense it's holi"; its a festival with popular social believe that ppl should just get together by forgetting all their complaints, disappointments, grudges, worries, sadness, seriousness, enmity against each other, forgive each other atleast for a day, So ppl get bit wild, loose, carefree aggressive/force putting colors (not in se8ual harassing way) specially on those reluctant for no serious reason, secretly throwing full bucket color water or few color water balloons from above the building,etc wild activities on our homies, buddies, family, acquaintances, strangers passing on street but Non take offense coz its done purely for fun & not to be rude, disrespectful. Maybe bcz you are exposed to holi in india for the first thats why it is wild for you, foreigners may feel disrespectful for aggressively putting colours but for us its friendly, fun and enjoyable holi what indians seek for. Don't take these experiences in ego. Its for truely fun thing. Its a celebration of fun and forget sorrow, sadness etc. . Every month of the year, Hindus celebrate some kind of festival. Hindu festivals are based on seasons and position of celestial bodies like Sun, moon, planets, star etc. Some of prominent Hindu religious festival are - Deepawali (festival of light), Holi ( festival of colors), Janmashtami (birthday of Lord Krishna) , Ram Navami (birthday of Lord Ram), Durga Puja, Ganesh puja, Shiva Ratri (Marriage anniversary of Lord Shiva and Parvati), Rath Yatra (Chariot festival associated with Lord Jagannath), Nav Ratri, Boudh purnima, Mahavir Jayanti and many more. These are not restricted to Hindus only. People from other religions are welcome to join in the celebration of these festivals. There are many other festivals like Poila Baishakh, Baishakhi, Rongali Bihu, Ugadi, Pongal, makar sankranti, poush sankranti, Lohri, Magh Bihu which are celebrated in different regions of India. These are mostly harvest festivals. There are also hundres of sub-regional and tribal festivals in India. Some foreign festivals like English new year, Christmas and Eid are also celebrated in India with great enthusiasm.

While those 1 percent can be anywhere, foreigners travelling south East Asia need to understand that majority of people here haven't seen/interacted/read/watched or sensitised to the presence of different races particularly from West moreover all they have been fed all their life is that western world is extremely open minded with complete absence of gender differences hence these overly reach to their women by these men. Yes, with time, education things will change but for the time being westerners visiting south East Asia need to learn to say NO for anything they are uncomfortable with. A strict, loud NO can stop and correct 99.99 percent of their behaviour right there at that moment.

When you go to Holi festival, don't forget to come to Songkran festival. Welcome from Thailand😊🎉
@mikeandashley
@mikeandashley 9 ай бұрын
We really want to come play Songkran, but flying back on short notice is out of our budget! We regret not being there for the festival. It’s certainly one of our favorite things we’ve ever done.
@Papau82
@Papau82 9 ай бұрын
It's a pity but you couldn't come. But that's okay. There's still next time. And I wish you good health and happiness throughout the year. Happy Thai New Year. Happy Songkran Day in advance. Right now it's not organized here. Thailand organizes around the 13th-15th and 16th with compensatory holidays.😊😊

Trust us, we also agree that it’s a pity. We hope to be able to come next year, and can’t wait to finally return to Thailand a little later in the year. 🙏
