Theres been a new visa policy that came out recently for Australians and many other nationalities, visa free visits for 30 days! You could literally rock up and enter china visa free. Im so trilled to not have to go thru lengthy visa application processes, and just book a flight and be there the next day!

Welcome to my home city. I just want to clarify that the gloomy sky is mostly because of clouds rather than pollution. The city used to suffer from heavy pollution but it has been much improved over recent years, although occasionally there are still a few days in a year (mostly during winter & spring) that we still endure what we call a "smog day". The pollution now primarily comes from Mongolia and some northern provinces that are heavily industrialized, the environmental situation in Mongolia is less than ideal, and you can search online about their struggle between building a good economy and protecting the environment if you are interested. Geographically, Beijing is surrounded by mountains on three sides of the city, thus creating a concave trap for winds carrying pollutants from the north, as a result, it is difficult to control the level of pollution in Beijing just through municipal-level efforts. My last note is that you can check for local pollution levels such as PM2.5 on many weather apps or websites, I think it is included within Alipay, just search for it.

Generally, there is only Chili sauce and vinegar on the table. There will be an extra soy sauce in the place where jiaozi is sold. Special dishes with special seasonings will be served with the dishes. Hot pot restaurants have all kinds of seasonings.❤

I’ll be visiting Beijing next month. I’m very nervous as to it being my first solo country trip. I’m trying to do as much research as I can possibly do to prepare myself for this trip. Any tips are welcome 🙏 please!! 😊

You two did an awesome job on this video! I know it's a lot of work. I feel this is the best one I've viewed on Kampot & Kep. You just drew me in with your presentation. I am interested in beach life in Kep. I would love to see what types of shopping is available & apartments in both places as I consider moving to Cambodia from the U.S.

Earrings are a classic lion dance image, very cute, usually seen every day during the Chinese Lunar New Year. 10:20 This is an underground cable warning sign. If the cable is damaged during road repairs, compensation will be calculated per second. The longer the cable repair time, the higher the compensation cost.

@mikeandashley I will keep on watching China though your camera 🤳. Enjoy your trip. Actually the hottest tourist spot now is Harbin. Maybe it is too cold and too crowded but the ice and snow festival is like an ongoing party for the winter. Just a thought. I'd do a lot of preparation if I planned to go.

@mikeandashley actually you two are more open minded than my western friends here in Canada. I was told in western culture, boiled light colored meat is not good. I offered some friends this style of hotpot but I was refused. That was about 20 years ago. I brought one of these copper hotpots with me here and never found an occasion to use due to ventilation issues, lol.

@@mikeandashley Well, I think these will save for next trip. Basically you have already tried some goodies that local people like. Since you are already off to Chengdu, I hope you keep on having good times. It's just pass 腊八节 which means December 8 in Chinese calendar. This festival when I was young symbolizes the preparation for Chinese new year is started. We would like some Laba Congee 腊八粥 for this day and prepare Laba vinegar 腊八醋 for new year. From now on, you may experience a lot of things related to the new year traditions all over China. Every province and ethnic group has something unique to offer. It may not show all together, but by the time the new year arrives, everything will be ready.

I feel the same happiness as you. Next time you come to China, I wonder if you are interested in coming to a small fourth-tier city. I invite you to come to my home, Fushun, Liaoning Province, to live with me and my parents for a period of time. I can offer you Chinese and meditation courses, you can teach me English, and we can exchange and learn from each other.
