This footage is breathtakingly beautiful- just raw emotions all around, and so much joy. It's also fascinating to witness this mutual awe that Kara & Nate and the Indian people have for eachother- I mean in the sense that Kara & Nate are experiencing this cultural phenomenon for the first time and the locals have such amazing reactions to them being there! One of my favorite parts is when the entire group of people celebrating is making that "pilgrimage" up to the temple- the chaos, all the people squashed together, chanting, singing, sporadically pressing a thumb-ful of pigment into Nate or Kara, the moment when the man behind Nate catches his hat. All seemingly subtle moments which actually create an incredible experience. Just wild! Thanks for sharing!

Caution Travellers (guests of India): I am an Indian, just clicked on this video, Haven't watched it yet. All I wish is for you to have a wonderful experience when you visit my beautiful country. Tips for holi: 1) women travellers and women only travellers are advised not to wander into unknown crowds of men only groups. 2) you can join private holi parties (offers are available online) which are relatively safer. 3) India is safe for everyone but when there is a huge gathering like this and people are drunk etc there are chances of mishappenings by a few rogue, anti-social and criminal elements so avoid men only crowds. 4) in Indian culture it's not okay for men to touch or hug unknown people especially not the women, so if you find such a person, kindly maintain your distance. 5) and you should not hesitate to approach people/police for help if someone gets too creepy with you. Wish you an awesome journey.. all the best.

I lived in India for a few years. I think an explanation of the context, history of Holi would have been wonderful to ad - it otherwise looks like a crazy / silly day. My friends /staff always tried to 'protect' me from Holi because with blonde hair and very white skin I would be a 'target' (in fun) and the color would take months to get out of my hair/scalp. I loved every minute, but kept it controlled. Happy to see you enjoy it so much.

Scott M things r not the same as they were earlier... As ppl r getting away from their roots n traditional heritage, the real meaning n way of celebrating is undergoing drastic changes in general. Even Indians feel it, so they r cautioning them. Yes, i agree these two r experienced travellers n they did their research to get to the right place but someone who watches the video can misinterpret the reality because they don't hv access to the background kno how. There hv been cases in past where foreign girls just ventured out to play holi with strangers who were high on marijuana (they failed to notice there were no local women around n the reason behind it) n had bad experience. That is then blown out of proportion on social media n the festival gets a bad name. This festival is not just for fun n frolic, it has deep religious n cultural significance to it. This is the motive behind comments as locals know the true pulse.

My wife and I absolutely love your vlogs. We just recently found your KZbin channel, and have been glued. This is how I'm traveling during the COVID-19 outbreak, vicariously through you guys. Thank you so much for just being you!

Mily Alvarez come to india...its safe.. that was just a random guy high with "bhaang"-(traditional edible preparation of cannabis which is used during Holi celebration). Just ignore people like those and you are good to go.

Hey Kara and Nate, I am an Indian living in the US since July 2016. The first video I saw from your channel was "FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF SEATTLE (with a local) ". I was looking for things to do in Seattle (been living here since 2018) and stumbled across that video. Since then I have been binge watching your videos and your vlogs in India were at the top of my list. I really appreciate the positivity with which you take all the experiences because I know a ton of people who would have been offended by things like lack of personal space and hygiene. I hope I can learn this from you guys. So the guy at the end of the video was following you all this time because he wanted money :D The locals have some idea about the exchange rate and know its not a big deal for someone earning in USD to give INR 100. Hope you guys have been safe and healthy in this pandemic! I look forward to seeing more videos from you guys :)
