So when you see those servicemen/women outside Buckingham Palace, on Horse Guards Parade, Windsor Castle they are not as some disrespectful people think they are there for decoration or are from a Disney set. So I am glad this video shows the other side of what they do. As for the fishing part of a the video, as an island if we allowed anyone to come and fish our waters and also those from our own country to take all they want the supply of fish I imagine would soon be depleted to the point of there being no or poor quality fish. Hence regulations which I believe include amount that can be caught, size and that you are legally allowed to be in our waters etc.

They can transport the tanks by sea,train, plane and parachuting them in (Edit/Reply to comments. We don't just have one type of tank that's 36+ tones. There are all sorts of tanks and if you do just a little bit of research before letting your fingers talk you might learn something)

You can’t parachute a 68 ton Challenger 2 😮
@TheMightyHams
@TheMightyHams 18 күн бұрын
Some IFVs can be dropped via parachute, and I believe Russia has succeeded in dropping tanks by parachute before, but it's not practical for most cases. The suspension isn't strong enough to support the weight of the tank dropping from height, and the shift in the aircraft's centre of mass would be so significant that the aircraft would likely undergo a large uncontrolled change in attitude after releasing the tank. Considering the size of the aircraft needed to carry tanks, it's probably not ideal to be losing control at any point.
@MichaelCoIIins
@MichaelCoIIins 17 күн бұрын
No you can not fly main battle tanks in, or drop them on chutes. Biggest cargo plane, C17, loading cap 45t. Challenger 2, clean weight (so no armour packs etc) 64t
@tonys1636
@tonys1636 17 күн бұрын
Tanks especially the Challenger II can't be transported by train in the UK as exceed the loading gauge for width. WW I and II tanks could. The Channel Tunnel and the high speed line into St. Pancras was built to European loading gauge. Most of our rail network and infrastructure is 150+ years old so is height and width restricted. Freight trains are slow (50mph or lower) and can often only run at night on main lines with a 90mph or above line speed with limited night services. Large Tanks moved by road fall under Convoi Exceptionel regulations (STGO 90) and require a Roads Policing Escort to control traffic and Highways Agency one to remove and replace street signage and lampposts as required.

Well, the last question is always a difficult one to answer. But here goes at a top level… The British military is divided into three main branches, each with its own “departments” and units: ### British Army 1. **Infantry**: Includes regiments like the Grenadier Guards, Parachute Regiment, and Royal Gurkha Rifles. 2. **Armoured Corps**: Houses units such as the Royal Tank Regiment and the Household Cavalry. 3. **Artillery**: Comprises the Royal Regiment of Artillery. 4. **Engineers**: Includes the Corps of Royal Engineers. 5. **Signals**: Contains the Royal Corps of Signals. 6. **Logistics**: Encompasses the Royal Logistic Corps. 7. **Medical Services**: Includes the Royal Army Medical Corps. 8. **Intelligence**: Houses the Intelligence Corps. ### Royal Navy 1. **Surface Fleet**: Includes destroyers, frigates, and aircraft carriers. 2. **Submarine Service**: Comprises nuclear-powered submarines. 3. **Fleet Air Arm**: Contains naval aviation units. 4. **Royal Marines**: Elite amphibious infantry force. 5. **Naval Reserve**: Comprises part-time personnel. ### Royal Air Force (RAF) 1. **Air Command**: Oversees all RAF operations. 2. **Combat Air**: Includes fighter and bomber squadrons. 3. **Air Mobility**: Comprises transport and refueling aircraft. 4. **Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR)**: Houses reconnaissance and surveillance units. 5. **Support Services**: Includes logistics, medical, and engineering units. 6. **RAF Regiment**: Provides ground defense and force protection. Each branch has its own unique structure and specialized units to fulfill its operational roles. ### United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) an elite group within the British military, comprising several specialized units: 1. **Special Air Service (SAS)**: Known for counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and special reconnaissance. 2. **Special Boat Service (SBS)**: Specializes in maritime counter-terrorism, amphibious operations, and reconnaissance. 3. **Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR)**: Focuses on surveillance and reconnaissance operations. 4. **Special Forces Support Group (SFSG)**: Provides support to the SAS and SBS, including direct action and close protection. 5. **Joint Special Forces Aviation Wing (JSFAW)**: Provides aviation support to UKSF operations.

Brize Norton is a military airport so is guarded by RAF police, civilian airports are guarded by civilian police, The guy with his head stuck out underneath the tank gun is the driver, ever since the invention of the separate turret, the tank driver has been placed in the front of the hull. The reason you've never noticed him? his hatch is usually closed, and he sees by a small periscope, or more usually in more modern tanks by camera and monitor screen. If a tank needs transporting over-land, they will go by road, on special large trucks, known as tank-transporters. they are far too wide to travel by train, theyed be hitting all the track-side signals, trains coming the other way, etc.

The guy down at the frontt is the driver, this is the case for all tanks, it wouldn't be good if the driver was being swung around in the turret The turret has the commander, loader and gunner The radar at Filingdales is probably a 'phase array' , it is electronically 'steerable' it scans very quickly and can simultaneously display multiple targets, potentially hundreds at the same time. There's an excellent sseries on Channel 4, "Top guns inside the RAF", each episode is abaout 1 hour

If you are Canadian, I would not panic about it as you are aware that you are part of the British Commonwealth of 56 countries with 2.5 billion people compared to America's 300 million . The Commonwealth military is larger than the entire American military. Additionally, you must consider the threat to invade a NATO country like Greenland, which would involve all NATO countries. America would be annihilated. I initially thought Trump would be beneficial for America, but I am quickly realizing he is an absolute raven nut job. The United States military is the world's third largest army in terms of manpower, with about 1.4 million active military personnel. Now let's look at some of the British Commonwealth armies and countries India. With strength of over 1.4 million active personnel 2024, the UK armed forces had a total of 148,230 personnel the Canadian Armed Forces is comprised of approximately 68,000 Regular Force and 27,000 Reserve Force members The Australian military 57,346 full-time active-duty personnel and 32,049 active reservists New Zealand has around 20,000 personnel Then you need to factor in nato excluding America is over 1.7 million troops not to mention the other 52 British Commonwealth countries And 31 nato countries excluding America

Regarding your comments "I bet those helmets are hot". These are the Foot Guards Bearskin Caps and they are relatively comfortable to wear. The fur is drawn over a bamboo cage/frame giving a reasonably large area for hot air/heat to rise into. I used to be a warrior tank gunner in the 1st battalion Yorkshire regiment. The guy at the bottom is the driver then the gunner sits on the right hand side if looking from the front. The guy on the left is the commander who is normally a rank of corporal. The gunner and driver can be a rank of private and above. I now fight in Ukraine but lost my leg after being hit by an anti tank missile. So the remote drone warfare is something I'm well used to and it's what scares most of us over here instead of tanks and artillery.

Royal Navy is the Senior Service. Fisheries protection? Those are warships, being kept functional when not needed for war. Did you know, that during NATO exercises, a British Vulcan Bomber, twice got past all U.S. defenses during the exercise? So, we have the Navy, the Army, and the Air Force, BUT, the army has many sub divisions with specialties. i.e. The Marines, (Originally carried aboard ships, for ship to ship, or ship to land fighting, but are not Sailors. So ex Maritime, but now land forces.)

There are 3 branches of the British Armed Forces: (in order of seniority) the Royal Navy (RN), the Army, and the Royal Air Force (RAF). All three of them have their respective regular (full-time / "active duty") and reserve (part-time) components. The RN includes the Navy itself, the Royal Marine Commandos, and Royal Fleet Auxiliary (a non-combatant civilian arm of the Navy). The army is split into "regiments" which each fulfil a particular trade or role (our version of MOS), some more prevalent roles (like infantry) have region specific regiments. The RAF is split into the aircrew (pilots, technicians, engineers, etc...) and the RAF regiment (ground forces for security and operations around an airbase)

Here in the UK we just have 3 armed forces branches; British Army, Royal Navy (RN) & Royal Air Force (RAF). Unlike in the US our Royal Marines are not considered a separate branch so fall under the Royal Navy & we don't have a space branch at least atm, space related stuff I believe is handled by the RAF & probably also the UK Space Agency. We also have a Coast Guard but they're not considered any part of the military & actually fall under the Department of Transport, they mostly do things like search & rescue, disaster relief, pollution control etc very different to the US Coast Guard who basically just seem like a cross between police & military.
