I want to address Kum and Go's comment about the use of Snickers. BTS has a storyline wherein J Hope (the member laying in the Snickers) was abandoned by his mother at a Carnival playing a game of hide and seek. She left a Snickers bar next to him. J Hope has obsessed over his mother ever since. In other words, J Hope is a victim of fake love. His first scene was a carnival storeroom. Later we see a Snickers scene which shows him reveling in the Snickers as it symbolizes his mother. The second Snickers scene later shows him in the fetal position in the Snickers pile as he is realizing his belief in his mother's love is his own creation, hence fake. I know it is very American throw out a cynical gottcha assuming the Snickers to be product placement, but this usage was an artistic statement creatively done in another culture. BTS openly endorses quite a few Korean products and now Louis Vuitton, but they do not use product placement in their music videos as part of that.

You would understand the music video a lot more if you knew the Bangtan Universe (the fictional storyline that runs through BTS music videos). BTS is on a break right now for the holidays and to rest because they've haven't had a break in over 2 years. Plus they just had 4 sold out shows at SoFi Stadium in LA and performed at the American Music Awards where they won Artist of the Year. But they will be back in 2022 with a new album and probably a world tour.

I think they tried to represent how from the outside(first glimpse or like first layer) love seems more “up beat” or like “happy” but once you start getting deeper into it (the lyrics and m/v)it gets in away “deeper”. And maybe y’all think I’m taking it too deep, but BTS have ongoing universes/story in their M/Vs and Fake Love is part of it, so yeah there are hidden messages in their M/Vs. I don’t know I tried to explain it to the best of my ability but it is almost 2 in the morning and I haven’t had a good night sleep in a while. But yeah thanks for the reactions 💜 appreciate you all

Yeah not liking a song isn't a big deal...! And like you said that the lyrics and beat of the song don't match and thus the vibe is different for a fake love, but I find this very thing quite beautiful as BTS is known for putting heavy and meaningful messages in there songs with a chirpy or rather up- beat which makes it bit difficult to choose if to just enjoy the song or think about the meaning behind the lyrics and that for me is quite endearing.💜

However one of the things I will point out is at 9:23 on the wall it says "Save Me", if turned upside down it translates to "I'm Fine". That creativity that Bighit and BTS used is called as Ambigram. Ambigram is a word, art form, or other symbolic representation whose elements retain meaning when viewed or interpreted from a different perspective. The 'Save Me' and 'I'm Fine' ambigram is used to address depression and anxiety, and it's like having a secret message and illusion, because people can see it as "I'm fine" but in reality that person should be saved at all costs. The ambiagram is also used to address 'Fake Love'.. when in a poor relationship one may say everything is 'fine', "our relationship is fine" but in reality they want to be saved from the cruel torment of the 'fake love'. .... 'Fake love' doesn't just have to be a song about an romatic relationship. Just as RM said.. "The love could be person to person, it could be between me and myself."
