There are so many great performances where the crowd is singing and shouting an d cheering. But what i love about this one is that the audience is so captivated, they're in silence, just listening

What I love about music in general, even if you don't know the language you can feel the emotions a song represents. Salvador absolutely touched my heart with his delicate voice❤️

His performance was so earnest, genuine, and heartfelt. Loved it since the day of the competition! One of my absolute favourites

I'm a 44 y.o. guy from Spain. Also an Eurovision fan as u are Alex. I think that night everybody pushed #SalvadorSobral performance on top because, somehow, all felt that there was magic, oh, magic on stage. I should confess I'm not used to listening it very often... 'cos reminds me sad personal memories (and still hurt me and cry a lot). But if Eurovision have sense nowadays is for these kind of magical moments. Not only fun and party. Warm and touchful ones. A big big hug from... Spain!.

It is the greatest classic (if not the only one) of all 21st century Eurovision songs. Try searching for "Amar pelos Dois Cover"... You'll be in for a surprise. It is by far the favorite song by musicians and orchestras, classical and exotic instruments, anonymous and well-known singers, countless versions in different languages but above all, admirers from so many countries, including South Korea, trying sing in Portuguese.

As Portuguese, it's funny that I didn't like the song at the beginning, but then it started to grow on me. But the amazing atmosphere in his performance was shocking, people really felt the song even though the lyrics are in Portuguese

Curious but the same thing happened to me! after listening to it a few times, I found Salvador Sobral's victory very fair. I didn't know the interpreter either. now I know he is a great singer of jaaz, in short, he is a very complete artist. a fantastic theme

Actually, the doctor didn't say he couldn't go. They didn't know if he could make the trip for so long. So after talking to the medical stuff, they said if he would stay only for a week, then it will be not a problem, that is why he was so late on the red carpet day cause he just had arrived to Kiev with the medical personal with him. when the other singers were already there for a lot. that is why during the rehearsals, who sag in his place what his sister, until he arrive the week of the Eurovision.

Sorry it's the original meaning of the word it means broad or all encompassing. I'm trying to say you're not genre biased and can appreciate a lot of different types of music - it's a compliment and if you always picked winners as favourites it's because you don't turn up your nose at something on genre grounds or maybe that they're all good or both.

before anyone asks "why are Australia and Israel in Eurovision, they are not part of Europe?", let me answer it instead. Eurovision is organized by European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and eligible to participate in it are EBU's active members. Who can be EBU's active members? countries who are within the European Broadcasting Area (EBA), which also includes Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and the three Caucasians (Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan). countries outside the EBA can not become active members; they can only be associate members instead, and associate members can only compete if they are approved by the Reference Group. Australia is the first country to participate from outside the European Broadcasting Area in 2015, following an invitation by the contest's Reference Group. Initially announced as a one-off participant, Australia has since gained participation rights until 2023.

Also, something that seriously gets in my nerves is the fact people say that "they should change it to WorldVision since it's becoming not Europe" because of the Euro part. Like, the name is not because it's exclusively European but because the broadcaster that hosted it was named Eurovision, which hosts lots of different musical contests.

I don't really like this song all that much. It's ok but not my style of music. However - I really don't like him. His comments about other styles of music where obnoxious. 5:26 Not really. He was shitting on all types of modern music (like pop, metal, techno....basically he was shitting on everything that is not like his own song), even going so far as stating that none of them qualifies as music. That's not only shitting on a lot of great music and performers, it is also extremely arrogant. Besides - I really don't get why so many people liked this song so much because it is boring af.
@vespucci- Жыл бұрын
It’s important to differentiate the artist from the art. It’s understandable that you may not like him for whatever reasons you may have, but judging the art based on that is not a good argument. This song has a lot of background context, at the time he has waiting for a heart transplant and the music was written by his sister, “amar pelos dois” meaning “loving for both”. It’s a very sentimental music and you really need to have your ears open to fully understand how deep it is. I recommend you to see the lyrics too.
@HH-hd7nd Жыл бұрын
@@vespucci- I know all that - and nothing of it is an excuse for his arrogant behaviour. Besides - you may be excited about the lyrics and that's ok. I know the lyrics and I don't care which is also ok - not everyone has to like the same type of music. What is absolutely not ok are his arrogant comments about music that is not exactly like his. Not liking other types of music - that's up to everyones personal taste and perectly fine. Claiming that it is not music is a spat in the face of every other artist and billions of people who like that different music styles. I'm not mad about the fact that a song won that year that I don't like or don't care about - that happens all the time and is perfectly fine. But his attitude is a huge red flag.
