Hi. Alan Partridge HAS his own podcast. It’s called From the Oasthouse and there are 3 series of it. It’s up there with his best work. He just gets better and better with age. We love him as an actual person.

I'm not sure he gets better with age. In my opinion this 1st series and Knowing Me Knowing You are peak-Partridge. Series 2 has 1 classic (the Dan Dan Dan.. one). His live shows stayed strong for long though.

I'm so glad you guys are enjoying AP, I feel like he's a little known gem that Americans have missed out on over the years. Although it's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, the whole Alan Partridge franchise has such great lore that has been developed over the years, and one thing you'll find through the TV series, stage shows, the Alan Partridge movie, the books and the podcast, is that it has such a tight and well crafted continuity.

Partridge was originally conceived as a satire on regional UK TV and radio presenters. You guys maybe are used to seeing national BBC presenters but each region has its own substratum of presenters doing local news, weather, magazine shows etc.. In short, the Alan Partridges really exist! He's just an exaggeration of them, a throwback to the 1970s/80s who just doesn't realise it!

Lol Susan is definitely not attracted to Alan, quite the opposite (this is made very clear in dramatic fashion a later episode). The staff all know how sexually repressed and generally awkward he is, so after polite attempts to get rid of him don't work, she wondered if actually pretending to show interest in his bizarre and intrusive flirting would confuse him enough to put him off.

Partridge has had an interesting career. First appeared on the surreal ‘The Day Today’ as a sports correspondent for an entirely fictional news program before turning up hosting ‘Knowing me..’ supposedly on the real BBC before becoming a DJ for a fictional radio station. @@DavidZ4-gg3dmYes even a relatively weak episode of Partridge is miles above most comedy... him swinging his bag at the staff + throwing their crisps away, the zombie prank and the monkey chat with Michael save it. It just seems weaker since as you say, it follows the excellent ladyboys and farmers episode, also because it's harder to make laugh-out-loud comedy about characters being bored. Similar to the Father Stone episode of Father Ted.
