They had a great freindship spanning 50 years and this concert was at a time when Olivia was just recovering from her first bout of breast cancer, so their chemistry is very real. Sang Two Strong Hearts, You're the One That I Want and You're The Voice together several times (including YTV to the Australian troops in East Timor). They also sang at the opening of the 2000 Olympics at Sydney together. All live of course. At Olivia's memorial service last week it was said that there were three Johns in her life - John (her husband), John Travolta and John Farnham and it was also stated that John Farnham was her favourite singer. Delta Goodrem sang a medley of Olivia's songs at the memorial. Delta was excellent as usual.

Just a suggestion- if you do pause, please go back 10 seconds when you resume as you missed the best transition of the entire song by pausing and restarting right in the middle of it! Thanks :) Also not sure if you realised the last line of the song, John took the higher role and Olivia the lower- it’s nearly always the other way round with male/female duets and just shows his incredible versatility. PS you absolutely can teach yourself vibrato- it involves training of the false vocal cords and isn’t just something you have or don’t have 😉

Besides having the best voice ever, JF can adjust his tone, pitch, volume, to match the person he is singing with to either match them or sing just under them depending on who's the head line act, he will even back himself down when he is the head line to give others their moment to shine, and if my ears were sensitive enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he could vary his vibrato and all of those other things that voices can do so he could accentuate the other singers.

I love those two and have 2 CD albums of theirs "Two Strong Hearts" and the album & DVD of this concert with Anthony Warlow as well in "The Main Event". Anthony is a classically trained exceptional opera/musical theatre singer e.g. "Phantom of the Opera" & "Les Miserable" & The Main Event includes much friendly banter and John singing Granada with Anthony is friendly & fun, with a touch of affectatious mimicry. This was one of John’s solos and my daughter won a big singing competition singing this song. She announced it was one of John’s before she started and not only did I not know, one of the Judges wrote that she didn’t like his music but after hearing that song she was going home to listen to a lot more of it. I love John and Livvie singing this as a duet. He had his wife Jilly’s permission to kiss her once a night for 3 months. That was how long the Main Event tour went with Anthony Warlow. They both did that tour with him because he had just had some really horrible cancer treatment, the have three great hearts. John even sings Opera with Anthony at this concert. Livvie was a good friend her whole career. Odd facts, both John and my husband moved from England when they were 10 years old. My husband went to High School with Livvie. She was at his sister school. I asked him how he felt about that. He told me I was 14 and I had to do dance practice and then partner one for the dance. He was a late bloomer. He did tell me she was very smiley and she waved going home. No, not when he was 14, he was 21 then and still blooming.😂 In this concert they got Anthony back out there from Cancer. Now we lost her to it and John is fighting it. Most Americans do not know she was ours or just how many of your stars are ours. Richard Marx has done a 4 part series on John. So far I think he has found John can sing I think 17 different genres including opera. Without effort, not bad for a guy who never had a singing lesson. My daughter’s voice had beautiful Vibrato. Her last voice Coach told her it had to go. It can be removed and my daughter walked away from her career. Thank you.

That’s amazing about your daughter winning a competition with that song. And for walking away from such an obvious horrible Coach. And how cool that Your husband went to school with Olivia! My daughter went to school with Leah Marlene from American idol last season, Leah was top 3. She should’ve won. When Leah did the home visit she visited the school choir and they filmed it so my daughter was on American idol in a home visit clip lol. If you love unique beautiful singers I highly suggest looking up Leah Marlene on idol. 😊 I think the younger generation here and many countries don’t really know where ppl originate. I think the people closer to my age are more aware of these things. And then they just teach their kids some of what they know about their favorite artists. 💜

@@ToniaElkins, I will have to look and see. We don’t get American Idol anymore. Mine tried out for Australian Idol when she was 16, she had no intention of going on the show. She did want to how it worked for a friend. He was an amazing singer and he was turned down 2 years running. Kye did her audition not in front of the judges like on TV. They used producers and singing coaches before you get to the judges. They told my daughter it was a no but to try again. She asked them why it was a no so she could improve. She had the lead in stage musicals since she was 10 years old. They told her there is nothing she could improve as she was already at a Professional level. The aim of the show is to take people with talent that had small but easy to fix problems and make it look like they helped them improve each week. She was dialing her friend as she left the building. She told him she was saving him a space in the line and to come back because she knew how to get him through. When he got there she told him if the same set of Judges was going to see him again to push the person behind him forward and wait for the second lot of judges who hadn’t seen him. Then he had to get bit pitchy and go off key once. He got through, he was in about 6 episodes when they found out just how good he really was. He was sent home and all of the filming they had done of him was removed. It made me look at that show in a different way after that. Idol has just started back this year after being missing for a long time. Our main judge is Harry Connick Jnr and I will watch anything he is in.

Tell your friends that a professional told you that vibratoe comes from the diagram, not the throte. It's part of your chest voice, not your head voice. Though it can be used to control head voice. But listen to me rave on. If you have a singing coach at school, they can teach you all that.

Love you reactions esp John’s. Please don’t apologise for your daughter in any way. She is a teenager, enough said. The fact that you two can do this channel together is a sign you are doing something right. Some teenagers of that age can barely speak to their mum. She is coming out of the most awkward years of no confidence and is finding her own person. She is quite beautiful and shows a love and knowledge of music. Just ignore the trouts that post rude stuff. You are building memories and building a lifelong friendship that starts when Savannah reaches maturity. You won’t keep everyone happy so best not to try. Many of the songs are 30 or more years old. Like dinosaurs to a teenager, I love hearing her take on what she is hearing. We are never too old or too young to learn. I recently went to my first heavy metal gig at 75. My daughter in law has a band and is a singer and bass player. Now I felt a stranger to the style but enjoyed the experience. So forget about the nasty ones, If they have issue why are they watching? Some people are naturally negative. Celebrate every moment you spend together. Too soon your children are gone, living a busy life with much less time to just be mum ❤ and daughter. Love from Australia.

That is so sweet thank you so much! You almost made me cry with this lol. I really appreciate all of you for taking the time to watch us. It means the world! And yes I’m very blessed to have this amazing relationship with my daughter 💜 And that’s awesome you went to your first heavy metal concert! I bet your daughter in law rocks! Playing bass AND singing, wow! Kudos to her.

@@ToniaElkins yes it was amazing. My son plays drums my other son saxophone, I love bass guitar so I’m used to noise but the concert was LOUD! My son provided me with ear plugs. My daughter in law is this sweet soft spoken girly girl but up on stage she shows her rage. Probably why she stays so sane the rest of the time. She dedicated her new song to me and told the crowd it was my first Hm gig at 75. The crowd roared “go Nana “ I had such fun. I didn’t know what to wear so I wore black with a purple tie dye jacket with a crystal pendant. I fit right in LOL. It was great to share the moment across the generational divide.. So I get what you guys are doing. Keep it up.

Not sure if it's true or not but I was told years ago that this song was about two people falling in love but the males part is a single guy and the females part is of a married lady falling in love with someone else.

If people get offended then that is their issue and not yours. Offence needs to be taken by the person, it is their choice. Just be yourself, if people don't like it then they can choose not to watch. No one has the right to tell you what you should or shouldn't do.
