for the americans that are new to the sport, 73 goals in a season is the most by any player by quite a bit. A world class striker whose job is to score will average about 30-40 in a season, sometimes more sometimes less depending on how good he performs, also taking into account that they arent as consistent as messi and ronaldo so they might put up these numbers for only like 6-7 seasons. Messi and Ronaldo have been averaging about 50 goals a season for the past 12-13 seasons. Also in the calendar year 2012 where messi scored 91 goals, that was more than some of the top teams in europe, like chelsea, manchester united etc

There is Ronaldo - And there is Messi - No one stands out like these two do! You could easily watch the same movie on Ronaldo, and you would have the exact same reactions! These two are without any doubts the greatest to play the sport! Not only do they have an utter crazy talent to the game - Their dedication to it is on a level that has never been seen before and properly never will for a very long time! They have been on top of their game for 15+ years and are still going strong - Week in, week out! Take this into consideration - The greatest sportsmen to grace the planet are in many peoples mind the likes of Ali, Jordan, Woods, Maradona, Pele, etc. - Name one of these who stood out for so many years like these two? ON ANOTHER NOTE: Being a left-footed player is considered somehow "rare"(30% of players are left-footed) in football - There is not many of them compared to right-footed players. Theres been research done to see if left-footed players have an advantage over their counterpart - It tells that left-footed players have inverted brain hemisphere functions, which gives them an extra dose of unpredictability :) Which Messi is a perfect example of..

He moves between the lines, watches what and where the opposition moves and does. He is a killer seeking your weakness. 2. A little story from the training pitch, The full barca defence was running set pieces when messi just arrived onto the training pitch. A wayward clearance landed next to him. He turned to eto'o and asked "what's the bets i can score". He then ran at the full barca defence took it past 5 and slipped the ball in the net. As he ran back up the pitch doing a fist pump eto'o noticed that he hadn't tied his football boots.

How football shirts work is, a team will have a home kit in their main colours which will only have minor changes with each new one, this is the one you would recognise i.e. Manchester Utd/Liverpool Red, Chelsea blue, Real Madrid white, Barcelona claret and blue etc. They then have an away kit (2nd kit) witch they use when they play a team with the same colour. Normally the team away from home wears this. Teams will be much more creative with the 2nd kit as it just has to be a different colour....so Barcelona had an away kit in neon yellow and neon orange like you saw. But they have also had white, black gold etc....Big teams may also have a 3rd kit, sometimes called the training kit, which they may wear if they have exceptional colour clash issues.

Messi has played played for Barcelona since he started until last season when he transferred out the club for his first time to play for PSG. Cristiano Ronaldo is not Cocky or arrogant, he is just confident and determined. While Messi is quite and doesn’t talk too much even at the pitch, but they are both considered the greatest footballers of all time. For example when Messi was at his best and everyone was calling him the player on the at that time, Ronaldo was good but not much eyes were on him, Ronaldo and his teammates were asked on an interview about who do they think the best player on the world at that time, everyone one was saying Messi or someone else, but Ronaldo answered “me” and everyone laughed, couple years later he won the golden ball of the best player on the world and kept winning it ever since. At the end, they are both the best players of all time and I’m happy that I have lived their era. Sop comparing just enjoy them.

Messi plays for Barcelona (a Spanish club like Kansas Chiefs) every season and then represents Argentinian National Team for World Cups. Its like Lebron James playing for Toronto Raptors every season and then turning up for Team USA for World Cups.😂

To put football into context, in the World Cup in 2010 and 2014, the World Cup attracted an average 3.2 BILLION viewers. Football isn’t a sport, it’s a way of life ❤️

Nice video. Messi is from Rosario, Argentina. He moved to Spain to play for Barcelona (Barca, pronounced Barza) in Catalunya, Northern Spain. Barca scouts spotted him in Argentina. Once in Barcelona he played in the Academy team from Barca. This academy develops young talent to play in the main league later. Barcelona is one of the teams that recruits talent that they develop. This is a reason why Barca is the best team in the world. They play like a unity team. Pique, Xavi, Neymar, Ronaldhino, DiMaria, Suarez, Iniesta, Busquets, Cutinho, Roberto, Vidal, Dembele, Puig, Messi, ... The classic uniform/jersey for Barcelona is the striped Blue & maroon, but they have other jerseys when they play abroad. That is why it seems like Messi has played for many teams. Messi has played for Barcelona at Camo Nou most of his career. Only two years ago his contract was sold to PSG(Paris-Saint-Germaine), because Barca could not afford his salary anymore. There is talk that the Miami (USA) team wants to buy his contract from PSG. Messi owns a home in Miami and has friends there. There is a large Argentinian community there.

About the jerseys, is that most teams Home kit remains with the main colors, but they change the away colors each season, thats the reason that the jersey color changes, but he still played with FC Barcelona.

Anyone who loves football loves both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, unless of course you are a Real Madrid or Barcelona supporter. They have both now moved on as their famous clubs have run out of money and they want to make the most of their final years at the top. It is lovely to see Cristiano back at Manchester United, even not being a fan, he was part of a great team when he was there the first time.

Messi has often been compared to Diago Maradonna, both are Argentinian, incredibly skilful and left footed. Messi doesn't "dive" I highly respect him for that 4:40 Speaking of Olympic sports, the 2024 Olympics will have Breakdancing apparently.

To be fair, the Americans need more easy gold medals to win.

I love how even in a Messi compilation, they (whoever made the compilation video) felt the need to compare him to Ronaldo. LMAO. I swear Ronaldo lives rent free even in the minds of Messi fans. Love it.

Argentina won the World Cup in Qatar in probably Messi’s last chance; so he has his world champion title. That large golden football is the Ballon d'Or trophy- basically the MVP of the world. Messi has won a record 7 Ballon d'Or titles (renaldo is closest with 5). Messi played the majority of his club career with Barcelona FC in Spain’s top league. He now plays for PSG in the French top league. Teams have 3 to 4 kits (jerseys) every year- home away 3rd alternate kit and sometimes a champions league kit. Top football players play for both club and country. When Messi is in that blue and white stripe kit, he’s playing for Argentina. It’s similar to say Michael Jordan playing for Chicago (club) and in 1992 he was a part of USA basketball for the Dream Team at the Olympic Games. Biggest difference is that footballers consider it an honor to represent their country, and always play. Men’s Olympic teams in football are 21 years old or younger (I think they can have 2-3 older players, but don’t know if that’s allowed anymore). Women have no age restrictions. There are quite a few USA players who are in European top leagues- unfortunately for us (for international play) many of them play the same midfield or attacking outside frontline roles. Well that was a long post 😂😂😂

One of the greatest players ever but the fact hes played it safe and stayed in Spain for his whole career means he cannot be considered THE best for me. That goes to Ronaldo in my opinion- conquering the Premier League, La Liga and now Seria A and still going

Totally agree, John Sellers. Please look for a Ronaldo video.

Conquering pl with Man u, la Liga with madrid and then join juve who was winning serie A from 9 years in row. Yeah that's we called proving in every league. And according to u, Totti is not great, Maldini is not best, puyol and many more bcz they didn't play in other leagues lol there is thing called loyalty.
@johnsellers51243 жыл бұрын
@@furious1581 if you read my comment again you'll see that i said messi is one of the greatest players ever. It just that the reasons given are why I personally wouldnt say the number 1. Would we still say he's the greatest ever if he'd have gone to the premier league and flopped like shevchenko did at chelsea? We'll never know whereas Ronaldos proven himself in multiple leagues. And by conquering I mean a combination of trophies won and personal statistics. I'm not denying Messi isn't great at all, just arguing why I think Ronaldo slightly edges it.

got this video recommended by yt at this time of the moment. this is World Cup time. i guess yt algorithm is doing its job. I am hoping you guys are watching the WC too. the dude at 26:07 is Diego Maradona, he was the captain the last time Argentina(also L Messi's country) won world cup. that shot is iconic because of it.

Softball, baseball (US played Israel today) and basketball are usually in the Olympics, (ice) hockey is in the Winter Olympics - because all of those sports are played way more widely than American Football which is only played professionally in the US (I’m in the UK and have played softball and hockey)

Messi has a growth hormone deficiency, and was quite sick as a child. His late grandma introduced him to futbol as a child, and he fell in love ever since. Messi’s family was poor in Argentina and they could not pay for any treatment to his disability. Barcelona took a chance on the Argentine, payed for his treatment and it was during his youth career at Barcelona that he honed his skillset. The rest is history. After every goal, he points to the sky as he dedicates it to his grandmother. To Messi, Barcelona is more than just a club, it truly was family.
