Great reaction! Did you notice Roger singing his heart out while not missing a beat on the drums? I often wonder when he managed to take a second to breathe... 'Save Me' from the same concert is brilliant! By the way, Freddie is not drinking beer. The beer bottle is a product placement. His cup is tea with lemon and honey, for his throat.

My request is MORE QUEEN LIVE CONCERT reactions (instead of recordings from their albums)... I am so thrilled some men of your ages are reacting, there are very few, mostly older. I think you should "go down the rabbithole " & do alotmore Queen. I am so interested in your age bracket to hear what you think about music done without synthesizers & other gimmicks, Queen is raw talent unlike much of today's music. Please do Queen's Live AID performance, it is judged around the world as the best performance ever.

Freddie Mercury. The greatest front man in Rock and Roll history. Noone came close to him. His performance at Live Aid 1985, despite a sore throat, was the greatest. Ever. He could sing anything. Rock. Opera. Soundtrack. He wrote the greatest song in Rock and Roll history. Freddie Mercury. Legend. Forever.

If you like this, you and your friends would love Queen's performance at the Live Aid concert in 1983. It was a charity concert for famine aid in Africa, all the world's most famous rock and pop stars performed free and it was watched by millions on TV all over the world as well as the crowd at Wembley stadium. Queen absolutely killed it - Freddie's friend David Bowie was next after Queen and he said to Freddie "You b******, how do you expect me to go on after that?" You want the version with the policemen because the other version cuts off at the end - it is a bit over 20 minutes. Freddie had throat problems at the time and had been advised by his doctor not to perform. It includes a song that Freddie wrote as a tribute to Elvis Presley and he sounds just like him.

Freddie Mercury was a phenomenal musician. His vocal range was ridiculously good and his classical piano training allowed him to write the most insane harmonies to his tunes. I played sax in the theatre band in London for The queen musical before moving on to a different theatre where Mamma Mia was running. Incredible experience and wonderful music for both.

I’m 51, so growing up at that time, you’re sort of attuned, when you’re with your parents, of course at any given point, it gets to be more mainstream and advertising picks up on that. Funny to hear your Mom playing it the car with you 😄👍

Freddie had a honey mixture drink for his throat when performing, sometimes Freddie would go against the doctors orders not to sing when he had touch of laryngitis, and when ever his voice sounded a little hoarse when hitting the high notes that's when his throat wasn't 100% but he would never back out of a live performance and dissappoint his fans.Freddie and Queen were the greatest performers ever.❤

actually Freddie never drank anything carbonated before or during a concert because he thought it was rude and disrespecting to his audience to possibly burp when singing. So no beer, soda pops or anything like that. mostly tea with lemon and honey to sooth his throat.

You'll get some dumb comments saying Freddie never drinks beer onstage, even though he does. He's on camera drinking beer in Montreal '81 more than once. Unfortunately some Queen fans on YT are in denial or have poor eyesight. There are always 2 large clear plastic cups filled with beer directly in front of Freddie on the piano in their live videos, including at Live Aid in 1985. The small ones are Dixie cups filled with water. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ With show time approaching, towels and drinks for the band’s refreshment on stage would now be strategically placed: water and beer for Fred, beer for Brian and Roger and the Backstage Bar for John, comprising water, beer, soft drinks, wine and whatever spirit or cocktail he fancied at the time: Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila. - Peter Hince (aka Ratty), Fred’s and John’s roadie and head of Queen’s crew.

Also check out the Foo Fighters version of Under Pressure where Roger Taylor's (drummer for Queen) son Rufus Taylor plays drums in place of Taylor Hawkins (who by the way is is Rufus's Godfather).

Would love to see your reaction to Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé singing Barcelona. There is the official music video of 1987 and also the last live performance of the song that Freddie did in 1988 at the open air La Nit festival. The song was written to be the opening song at the 1992 Olympic games but Freddie passed away in 1991 and so another song was chosen with Barcelona only played at the start of the international broadcast. if the song and performance doesn't send chills down your spine you have no soul 🙂

Remember no autotune, just live perfection by all four members. You said how great Freddie was. Just a comment I love to make to new timers to Freddie. Look up greatest singers of all time Pop/Rock/ and other genres and you will find him always in the top 3, many times at number one. He could do things with his voice that no one then or now can do. Penny Lane will always be associated with The Beatles but Freddie Actually Lived on Penny Lane for a while. He was in a Liverpool band called The Ibex and The roadie's Mum and dad had a place called Dovedale Towers, it's still there today. They gave Freddie one of The spare Rooms upstairs to stay in. That was in 1969. Queen were formed in 1970 and The rest as they say, is History.

Another truly spectacular live performance by Queen is White Queen, Live at Hammersmith Odeon, 1975. An earlier song with a very different mood, romantic medieval vibes and Freddie very beautiful with his long hair and make-up... Oh, and a mesmerising guitar/piano duet between Freddie and Brian May... Not all bands give such consistently great live performances as Queen do, and TBH I'm sometimes disappointed comparing them to the recorded versions. Some are great but some are frankly pretty awful or just OK... If you want specific recommendations for a particular artist people here can probably guide you to the best examples, or their favourites, so you don't get disappointed. Also, some older bands say from the 60s and 70s (before MTV and the invention of videos) rarely had their live performances recorded/filmed so often the only video available will be of some sort of later 'reunion' or comeback sort of show, with the band all older and voices often not what they once were. Great for nostalgia for those who remember them from their youth but not the best introduction to these legendary artists.

Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson are the 2 greatest showmen of the 20th century. The way Freddie had the whole crowd at live aid in the palm of his hand their whole performance was something special.

I have read that someone commented the following At 3.35 Brian May wanders off the stage cause of issues with his guitar At 3.40 Freddie notices goes into extended improvised performance At 3.53 you can hear Brian is tentatively strumming to check guitar At 4.10 Brian is back and Freddie carries on song That is what you call true performers. No stopping no tantrums just keep going Perfection as always from them

What's even better than watching them in a video is watching them LIVE. I got to do that 3 times with Freddie and once with Paul Rodgers. Honestly, if you closed your eyes, you swear you were listening to their record. Freddie Mercury, is and will always be, one of the best!! Should do a reaction to 'White Queen' live, this was before they hit the world stage and shows the incredible talent of all four members of the band!

Omg i loved your reaction, suscribed! You definitely should show them more Queen, I listen to a lot of Queen, I would recommend live performance of Live Aid, Under Pressure, Love of my life, who wants to live forever, Love of my life. Songs would be Mother love which was Freddie's last song before he passed and was not able to finish so Guitarist Dr. Brian May had to finish the last verse 💔, I would also recommend the song 'The Show must go on', live performance of White Queen, song 'you take my breath away', another one bites the dust, I want to break free, Too much love will kill you, time waits for no one by Freddie alone as well as the live performance of 'Barcelona' with Opera singer Monserrat Caballet, she was a famous singer that Freddie admired and always wanted to collab with and eventually they made an album together and were close friends until his passing ❤
