Guys guys guysss!! Please review the trailer of Merry Christmas, (Andhadhun's Director Sriram Raghavan's Next Directorial Venture). And NOTE you have to watch both the hindi and tamil trailer, as both the trailer cuts are different! This is the most intriguing part of this. Surely the director is coming with something big & excitiing this time after the crazy andhadhun! Very excited!!!

I think you guys totally got the context wrong. Dads don't sign up sons into the army, the children have the independence to do it themselves. Only very passionate people go into the army. What she meant was that if sending off sons to the arming is seen as something to be proud of so sending a daughter to protect her country should also be viewed the same way. She was trying to tell her dad not to feel bad, that she has made a decision.

Based on a true story 👍👍 n she isn't supposed to be a muslim, she IS a muslim already. India has all the religions. Secular country. That actor Vicky Kaushal was in Sardar Udham and URI, too. Also Hindi and Urdu are 95% same.

15:32 It IS based on a true story. Sehmat (her name in the book) didn't want to share her story for the film b'coz she couldn't see the need for it. She was pursued by a lieutenant commander in Ind Navy (the writer of the book) after he had heard from an Indian Army soldier abt his mother. She agreed only after he agreed to keep her identity hidden.

Actually for decades now u can't enroll ur children into the army bcoz aspirants have to give entrance exams but back when this incident happened there wasn't such thing so parents kind of had the autonomy of that. My grandpa was in the army during the time period as in the movie and my great grandpa had enrolled him into the army to serve the nation in times of need.

Great reaction guys. But i think you guys mistook some of the traditions. This was in 1971. Things do not work that way in India now. You cant enroll your sons in the army. You do not marry someone you've never met ( that happens very rarely). And its a patriotic movie. It kinda spoils the essence when things like ' she shouldnt do it if she doesnt want to' . She wanted to. Thats why she was so successful in her mission. Oh and she was muslim before and after getting married.

They're not chipmunks they're squirrels! Indian squirrels are very different from American ones. Much smaller and have 3 lines across the back. According to Hindu mythology, during the construction of the sea bridge to Lanka for Lord Rama, who is considered to be the 7th avatar of the Hindu god Krishna, all animals such as monkeys and bears helped bring huge boulders to the sea. However, since squirrels are small, they could only bring small pebbles and grains of sand which led to the bigger animals making fun of the squirrels for their minimal contribution. When the squirrels complained to Lord Rama, he said that no contribution is small if you give it your all and he stroked his hand across the squirrel's back as a form of appreciation. His fingers left those lines on the squirrel's back and the lines are there till today. Of course believing or not believing all this is up to you. In my opinion it doesn't matter. In mythology, what matters is what the story teaches us.

The thing is Americans will never understand what it means to be an Indian Army men..A country that is surrounded by enemy from all side.. A country where no one will ever want their sons to join army if they dont actually have that much love and respect for their motherland.. Its a most risky career one can ever chose.. and none..I repeat no Indian Army personnel resigns or withdraw from their job.. That means they have that much love respect for their motherland that they chose country over their ownself and family ..They can never be forced fo join.. and americans will never understand this ..because they have never fought any battle on their own ground.. they only know how to supply weapons to terrorist
