I remember he did one sketch in which he crept up behind an Eskimo, who was fishing through a hole in the ice in the far north of Canada, and did a loud CLANG! noise with a pair of cymbals, just to make the eskimo jump out of his skin with the surprise/ fright. He flew to Canada specifically to do that one joke / sketch.

The memories of this... man. I was in the army doing my consription service. The year was 2001 (we actually saw the 9/11 news while in service). The weekend holidays home with hot sauba, hot pizza, ice cold beer and Trigger Happy TV was the absolute high light of my life those days.

@@colinglen4505 you’re correct mate, it is fonejacker haha. I just start typing and don’t think about the correct spelling as I want to get the comment posted haha. Really how they do some. I only found out a few years ago that it’s waj from 4 lions who did the voices 😆 was so surprised to learn that

Loved this in the late 90s. And good to see the Lord of Bath again. Always Found it so funny that he was a lord with a huge estate, but looked like my mum's hippe artist friends. 😊

4:48 This is a safari park. The animals, including Lions etc are in extremely large enclosures that you drive through and they are essentially roaming free. You are under strict instructions to keep windows closed and doors locked. A very common occurrence at these places is having monkeys or smaller apes like baboons swarming your car, breaking windscreen wipers etc.

Trigger Happy TV was a big hit in the UK - It's funny how the Americans don't seem to find the pranks very funny , preferring to sympathise with the people being pranked. For me, none of the stunts are cruel or hurtful. They simple leave the people puzzled

I never understood why Trigger Happy TV wasn't picked up by North American TV networks. Well worth binge watching everything Dom Jolly has ever done! Little known fact is he got his start by protesting politicians when they were being interviewed. While they were talking he'd do things like have a couple people in giant squirrel costumes start humping in the background. He wouldn't have it filmed but instead relied on the interviewers sharing it on TV as it was always more interesting than the actual interviews. Later one of the networks gave Dom Jolly his own low-budget show and Trigger-Happy TV was created.

Trigger Happy TV was just harmless fun. Not offensive, not overly violent, not risking anyone's safety. Modern prank shows have upped the ante and yes, they are the sort of shows which will offend and will threaten peoples safety. Especially this youtube shit where people go around slapping people or stealing as a prank. That's not a prank, it's just criminal behavior. But I think the main problem with this show is that the British are just too laid back. We don't really react. We just observe and ether politely go along with it or awkwardly do nothing. I guess a more modern version of this is Impractical Jokers. And that show had a British and American version and just like I said, the British version didn't really work because the British just shrug it off. It's Americans who are shocked, appalled, insulted or scared shitless.
