The US played cricket against Canada before the great depression. It remains fairly easy to find on the West coast from Vancouver down to San Francisco. I played in a league for a team in Portland in 2006.

I lol, when I heard one person say" Oh they have a fan base". Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport in the world. Played by millions, watched and loved by billions. Americans created a hybrid version, they called baseball , because they did not want to play the "English game" after independence. The same can be said if American football . A rugby rip off.

1) Cricket aint weird Baseball (the opposite might be true tho), coz cricket is older. 2) Baseball aint worldwide. Cricket aint worldwide too, but way popular than baseball, like 2nd most followed sport. Baseball is like 7th on the list. 3) That ball is literally a rock.

@@adityaagrawalagrawal1973 Not a rock. The traditionally made ball is a cork centre tightly wrapped with twine and encased in leather. The original baseball is much the same construction but with different seams, larger and lighter than a cricket ball.

Cricket orignated in England around the 18th century. It spread to many of the old British empire countries, so is now massive in the UK, India, Pakistan, Australia and NZ, West Indies, South Africa etc. Great reaction guys.

Very few places play baseball the world plays cricket. A cricket ball is harder than a baseball, but gloves are not needed as men play cricket. Mind you it can hart if you catch it wrong. Baseball was invented in the UK, it is called rounders but has some differances.

Um.....no. Baseball is not "worldwide". Its a predominantly North American sport that is also played by two small Asian countries (Japan and South Korea). Its not popular in Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the vast majority of Asia. Cricket is worldwide. Baseball most assuredly is not.

In the UK during the school summer term, boys play cricket and the little girls play rounders. Baseball is an offshoot from rounders. Cricket has an estimated 2.5 billion fans, baseball has 500 million. The sport is mostly played where Great Britain colonised, Australia, NZ, India, Pakistan, West Indies etc
