Here in the U.K. we have Shrinkflation. They are making the sweets/chocolate bars smaller while charging the same price. I used to buy Green and Blacks Dark Chocolate. The bar was 100g. Then they reduced the size to 90g but kept the price the same. This is just one example. Thanks for your videos.

Christmas pudding is a thing in the UK. Generally on Christmas day or surrounded Ng days. It's like a flour/suet/ raisins/brandy pudding. It's around the size of a small soccer ball. You generally have it hot or warm, with custard or brandy sauce. You'd have it after your Christmas dinner. The Cadbury "pud" is called that because it looks like a small Christmas pudding!

Great video. I'm from the UK, but when I'm Stateside, we love York, Reese's products but Hershey sucks! What??? Terry's chocolate oranges are da bomb!!! 😁 Jeremy was spunky today! He's normally so quiet.

Peppermint Patty? Ermmmm one of Charlie Brown’s friends 😉☺️ trust me, as I work in a very large supermarket and I know my way around allll kinds of chocolates 😉 we don’t “do” a Peppermint Patty ….. and the Cadbury “puds” are meant to be like a Christmas pudding - the dessert what forms part of a UK Christmas dinner set - just a choc novelty gift thing to put in a Christmas stocking or to look pretty in the bowl of chocs that you pass around when watching “Christmas telly” later in the afternoon - the Christmas tree decorations are in a limited supply this year! We normally have all different shapes to hang on the tree….stars, bells, baubles etc all decorated in sparkly foil - and the rule in “my house” is that the tree chocs CANNOT BE TOUCHED until Christmas Eve! 😡 and by 28 December you woukdld be hard pressed to find any hanging there! 😱😩😖

Hi guys I enjoy you trying British Chocolates, I am from the U.K, you are a loverly couple who come across on youtube genuinely nice people, the kit kat, bar from the U. K. Next time you try one take two of the fingers and bite the ends off and use it as a straw with a coffee as you suck you will start to get the coffee coming through like a straw, just a fun idea for you guys to try if you like 👍.

Im not sure if it is just my family, but for me it is tradition to get a terry’s chocolate orange in a stocking. They also make dark chocolate versions which only seem to appear around christmas time.

Peppermint Patty is also a character in the comic strip ‘Peanuts’. Charles M. Schultz chose her name after he saw a plate of Peppermint Patties in his house.

Fun fact, I live down the road from where they make some Cadbury’s products! Mainly the cakes now! Always remember when I was little and the factory was bigger you used to always be able to smell the chocolate! If you google Cadbury factory Moreton, Wirral it’ll tell you about it! It’s now owned by Premier Foods.

TRY _Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisp chocolates_ sweeter than minty After 8's

Terry’s haven’t been made in York for quite a long time. They were bought out by Kraft which later became Mondelez - the same company that own Milka, Cadbury, Oreo etc. but they sold the Terry’s brand a few years ago. Terry’s is now owned by a French company (Carambar) and the chocolate is made in France. Daim is also owned by Mondelez. Basically, most chocolate brands in Europe are all owned by the same company. Also, since you mentioned Mr Kipling, that brand is owned by Premier Foods. Premier Foods make Cadbury cake products under licence - so a lot of the Cadbury cakes (Mini Rolls, cake bars, reindeer cakes etc . are made in the same place as Mr Kipling products.

English Christmas plum pudding is traditionally a steamed mixed dried fruit sponge ball with rum served with splashed on brandy that evaporates and is set on fire (flambé style.) Eaten with brandied cream or brandied custard or both. I serve with ice cream _á la mode_ Some people served it with a little icing on top with a piece of Holly garnish to resemble snow in place of _flambéd_ brandy. Hence the little rum flavoured chocolate Cadbury ball!

Yeah, they weren't After Eight mints. The thin square After Eight mint, each one in it's own paper sleeve is so much a part of the British culture that you used to be able to buy imitation plastic mints that you could replace in the box as a practical joke!

Suprised you don't have chocolate Christmas tree decorations they are very popular in the UK. You hang them on the tree and as a child I would get one every day leading up to Christmas and I did them same for my children when they were small. My tree goes up on the my birthday which is the 13th December, 12 days before Christmas and come down on my dad's birthday 6th January which is 12 days after and as he is no longer with it is always a poinient day

Terry’s were the first British chocolate house to introduce orange flavoured chocolate, but they also experimented with a chocolate apple and a chocolate lemon, neither of which took off. I have a young great nephew who adores chocolate orange, but he’s only allowed two pieces at a time.

Little tip: if you dip the kitkat santas in hot chocolate, the taste & texture is way more amazing and leaves your hot chocolate tasting stronger!

I can't believe you didn't try Ferrero Rocher chocolates! They are a staple in British households at Christmas, though not really British, more continental European. As a side note, it was bittersweet watching this video as I used to love chocolate but I don't anymore!
