Yeah, Walkers is the OG, they just got bought out by Lays and kept the logo the same but kept it as Walkers in the UK. Its Lays all over Europe. Technically those first crisps are just from Walkers they might have been sent from Dublin but they are just Walkers crisps, Leicester, England.

@@Tensen01 Ah you are half correct my bad. In the 1880s, Walker moved from Mansfield to Leicester (43 miles south) to take over an established butcher's shop in the high street. Meat rationing in the UK after World War II saw the factory output drop dramatically, and so in 1948 the company starting looking at alternative products. Walkers was around earlier but switched to making CRISPS in 1948. Either way they are wonderful haha

If you want to try some really crunchy crisps and prefer the thick cut, I would recommend trying McCoys - especially their mature cheddar and onion. They are really strong on flavour as well. We have a number of brands that are popular in Britain. Tyrrels root vegetable crisps are a bit different and taste really good. We also have flavours you dont have in the US as well, like prawn cocktail or sweet chilli.

Walkers produce and distribute a wide range of snacks, and chip flavors include Cheese & Onion, Ready Salted, Salt & Vinegar. Walkers also makes Sensations-branded chips in the UK. Related brands: Frito-Lay; Walkers; Hostess; Smith's Previous owners: 1940-1961 Lay's; 1961-1965 Frito-Lay Inc Produced by: Frito-Lay The label is definitely the same as Lay's. In Australia, we call them chips mostly, but sometimes we call the crisps. We also call "french fries" chips as well, so it can get a bit confusing at times. We sometimes get around this by calling them "hot chips". Back when I was a kid, you'd walk down to the Milk Bar, get a bucket of chips, a battered sav (actually, I never liked these), a potato scallop or two (in NSW), a can of Coke and a bag of mixed lollies for dessert! Lunch / Dinner of kings!! Also, we have the "Health Star Rating" on some of our packaged food in Australia, the more stars, the healthier it is. It depends on the company. I think Tim Tams are like a 0.5 health star rating, for example.
