Fun fact: since a lot of the indian (savoury) snacks use a lot of chickpea flower, they're all relatively high in vege based proteins :) While their sweet snacks use a lot of dairy solids, again providing plenty of good protein :3 Basically if you want good gym snacks, Indian is the way to go.

Ive seen so many "Trying Indian Snacks" videos on youtube but, Only few of them covered our day to day snacks. samosas and pani-puri are still covered a lot and are popular but Chikki, Murrukku and Paneer Pakoda are some snacks that most people dont talk so highly about but all indians enjoy them on a daily basis. Thanks for covering all these amazing delicacies.

Fun fact - pani puri is referred to as gol gappe in Delhi and puchka in Kolkata And it’s called pani puri in Mumbai And the fillings that you put in the “fried dough” is different in all around India !! It’s similar yet spiced different in all places!

I visited India as a kid. Someone told me that if you eat the pani puris from the street vendors you'll pay the price. It was one of the best snacks I've ever had. I had a four hour bus ride after and I paid the price. Still one of my favorite snacks.

The is a reason why chikki is made up of jaggery and sesame seeds and peanuts, chikki is consumed during winter mostly during winter so the ingredients have natural heat in them as sesame seeds, Peanuts and many more ingredients they should try one mava chikki which is made of peanut powder and jaggery it's the best amongst all.

Jaime mentioned the green curry paneer, that’s palak paneer. Palak is spinach and paneer is cottage cheese. You should try Kurkure, Bingo mad angles, Piknik, batata wada, ragda pattice, dahi wada, dahi puri, sev puri, Bombay sandwich, jalebi fafda with papaya chutney, puran poli and so on and so forth. Every time I watch any foreign reaction to Indian snacks, most of the snacks are like, I haven't tried them or even heard of them. It also makes me feel wow about the diversity in our tastes and cuisines all over the country. Probably , Only foreign brand snacks are available in all the states and would be recognised by all Indians like Lays or Coca cola. We should promote our own snacks domestically in other states too. There are lot of Indian snacks which I find interesting and would love to eat but they are not available.

Actually that chikki is originally a mexican snack called "Palanqueta" (or "Alegrias" that are made from amaranth") that was created in the 1500's (Mexico's Conquista) and then introduced to india in the 1800s after the Lonavala/Bombay Railway

Some other dishes you guys can are - Sindhi pakwaan, khamand (Gujrati), Daal Bati (Rajsthani), Uttappam, Poha, Sabudane ki Khichadi, Kathi Roll etc. Momos so popular now so thats's something worth trying. For some sweets - Sandesh, Gujiya, Gajak or something like tamarind candy and chawanprash. Another idea is indian take on dishes from other cultures. For example we have our own variety of chinese food which are very popular in India. Another thing they can try are Indian fruits which are not found in the west or taste very different. Mangoes are a must try with lots of variety.

We call them sambosas and are a starter in Ramadan. But the dough is made by rolling out circles brushing with oil and layering. I do about 8. Then you roll the flat put them on a hot skillet. And open them to get thin almost filo thin pastry, cut into strips and stuff with mince or potatoes or feta. Then fry. This gives the flatter triangle. They do use this method in India too.

Pakoras were called pakodas in my home. My grandfather also called them Bhajis! My favorite was always the potato pakodas. Just a otato cut like a chip and fried like the paneer in the video. Indian fries. ❤

I LOVE PURI. Any puri dish, I will eat. Dahi puri is my jam, the addition of yoghurt is amazing. I would love to try those Peppy chips!! I love Indian food! I tried pani puri last year and I kept buying it ever since. Samosa is my go to light snack if I am hungry but couldn't decide on a place to eat. I remember my parents always buy murukku and chikki when I was young. I think it's normal for us Asians to eat Indian snacks and food because we live in a multi culture society.
