The delay from shooting to uploading has gotten looonnggg if everything we saw mid-December until today was shot before early December. Definitely a far cry from the days when a music video or movie trailer would drop and we'd get a React video for it within a week.

Coupling ran for four seasons between 2000-2004, was written and created by Steven Moffat and could be best described as Friends meets Seinfeld. The show has an IMDB score of 8.6 for a reason. Then after Coupling ended he then revived the now immensely popular Doctor Who in 2005 as showrunner till 2016 and during that time also helped create and write Sherlock in 2010 which is probably one of the best TV shows of the 21st century and made Benedict Cumberbatch a Hollywood star

Coupling wasn't a remake or a version of Friends. Coupling was just another group genre show that was popular in the 90s similar to Friends, This Life and Cold Feet. This is like saying The Witcher was a remake of Game of Thrones because they're both in the genre of fantasy TV shows.

completely agree...I saw coupling soon after I came to live in the UK back in 2002 and it was great! the characters had depth, the actors were good and the stories were about adult dilemmas and sexual exploration all with good British humour.... for anyone confused by the name 'Stricty Come Dancing'. In 1970s UK, there was a televised amateur ballroom dancing competition called 'Come Dancing' Come dancing was like an invite to 'Come Dancing' In the 90s there was an Australian film, set in the world of competative ballroom dancing called 'Strictly Ballroom ' The show was first conceived as a special celebrity show for charity 'Comic Relief' and was called a mix of come dancing and Strictly Ballroom as a joke. It was so popular, it became a regular show.

@gnu_andrew11 ай бұрын
I've never seen more than clips of either Shameless, but they seem to suit their respective audiences and be a different take on the same key ideas. On the other hands, Skins US was a pointless shot-for-shot remake of the UK version. They should have just shown the original.

I am in U.S. but I found the UK version so much better because it was wittier, much more subtle dark humor, of the kind the Brits are famous for a la Monty Python. American version was funny, but much more hit-you-over-the-head obvious type of humor. With the UK version, you sometimes have to dig down deep to appreciate the humor.

Why would you compare Coupling to Friends? Coupling was an out and out comedy made in a completely different style. Friends was more of a drama. Friends is also a linear show where time is always moving forward. Coupling had flashbacks, a split screen episode where the story was told twice from different perspectives and various other non linear progression concepts. It's probably one of the reasons that Steven Moffat went on to write for Doctor Who. Coupling was also based on the real life story of how Steven Moffat and his wife Sue Vertue got together. The main characters are even called Steve and Susan and the show was produced by Sue.

What’s the use of comparing if none of them saw the British versions. Coupling is NOT a remake of friends. The only thing they have in common is 3 guys and 3 girls that regularly meet in a bar. They don’t live together and none of the storylines or characters are the same. The humor is completely different and would probably shock a lot of Americans. SHAMELESS (UK) is way better than the American remake. For THE OFFICE I agree with the USA version. The UK original was groundbreaking but hard to watch. Ricky Gervais character is extremely unlikebeable and gets fired at the end of season 2.
@darthwiiziusАй бұрын
Way to explain you don't understand The Office. It is all about cringe based humour that Gervais uses as a direct reference to when he worked in an office. Remove that and you not only have a completely different show but you have removed the very satire that anyone that works or has worked in an office while having some active neurons firing in their skull recognises. The cringe is funny because we all know people like David Brent, and why? Because useless bloody loonies aren't given work that needs to be done effectively so end up as office managers and HR staff. That's the satire.
