Nice one once again! Appreciate your very fruitful collaboration with Will from Fenrir, aka "The Bearded Wonder"! And learned something today I'd never thought possible - and that is that you can BUILD FOOD DRIVE! I always thought, "Oh, those poor peops whose dogs don't have food drive, what a hard and long road to training success that must be...!"

Hello. I like the information you provide. My Corso 16 weeks is no food drive, kind of hard to call attention to training, she walks good on leash, stores socializations, still very nervous and on edge. sometime little growling, corrected on the spot and stops. Have still issues with potty training, if i get distracted pee on floor, i am controlling food and water to manage outside time, so far ok I will love to watch more video like this one, her lack food drive do not help me to training my little Corso. Sit command super, follows good on leash

Hi! I have 2 questions. 1. Why did you choose Royal Canin with it's terrible ingredients (rice and corn at the begging)? 2. How do you train with treats when feeding raw food? For my castrated 10kg female dog we have around 160g of raw food in total and to add treats (even some type of kibble) to that I feel like there won't be any meat to feed.

Thanks a lot! I have one question: you said in the mark 1:55 that you would show how to build up food driving in a dog in the subsequents videos. But I saw the two others of the food series and I didn't find this tip. Could recommend some video who teaches that, please?

Thanks for the video! I have a few questions. 1) what do you do if your puppy is hyper food driven? My 5 month old GSD goes nuts for food, to the point where he can not focus on working. 2) we should all be training every day, unfortunately that's not always possible for me. On days where I can only train in the evenings, after dinner, or late morning, should I feed my puppy his regular amount of breakfast and dinner? Thanks!

Yes, you can, but smaller dogs will have a hard time chewing this larger size of kibble. Also, if you want to give your dog extra-healthy high-value treats, here's what we recommend: www.amazon.com/dp/B0002DGRSY?tag=onamzamericst-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B0002DGRSY&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1SSFDPB7S4DLD&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_d_asin

I use kibble for my dogs training sessions, but it's supplemented with a raw diet which comes later after training, with no kibble. He eats within a 2 hour window, once a day. His food drive is awesome compared to my family friends dog that's been eating twice a day, too much, with no exercise.
@sammy2276 Жыл бұрын
So interesting, so how do you balance, the food you give him (like for example a meal at night or morning), with the training sessions?, or is the traning session its meal time, do you know what I mean?
@luisherrera51722 жыл бұрын
Kibble is good if they are starving. It worked for me for a while. But my dog gets tired of it because he has that every day. What works for me is boiled chicken...sliced them up and refrigerate uncovered. Instant freeze-dried treats.

tbh I have the opposite problem with my dog as you with the black shepherd. He's okay with toys (a little pushy/giggly but not unconcentrated), but goes crazy for food. I can barely have a treat in my hand without him whining, jumping, trying out all the tricks he can, winding out of a stay to get to the food, etc. Any advice on having him calm down around food/treats? (he gets kibble every to every other evening, bones/dry skin about once a week and was easy/okay to train without treats to a certain degree)

I leave food out 24-7 and my dogs food drive is still a 10 Ive found leaving thier food out all the time has eliminated so many problems. They have absolutely no food aggression towards each other or our other animals, they only eat when thier hungry and usually just a little at a time eliminating over eating and weight gain, they never even think about begging. No chewing on everything. And in the long run I save money of thier food as they don't eat as much as most dogs do and mine are extremely active and they actually live longer. So on this one thing I'll disagree with you. I'm 67 and have been doing this since my first dog at 12.
@NinoTheCorso3 жыл бұрын
No need to make the dog hungry before training. Then he only listens when hungry. Rather, offer kibble w training session, if he’s not engaged, don’t offer another chance to work for food for several hours. Eventually, he’ll appreciate the chance to work, cuz he’ll learn that’s how he eats.
@AmericanStandardK93 жыл бұрын
Very confusing. You're contradicting your own argument. If he's not hungry he won't train to eat so put him up. I agree. Bring him out again when he's ready to work for food...aka hungry. I agree. I don't disagree with what you're saying but the first line doesn't make sense. I just read what you wrote by my wife. She laughed out loud and said..."Exactly! So wait until he's hungry?!" But your first line says no need to make hungry before training. I disagree there. Let him be hungry. Not starving. But motivated for food. 🤔👍🏻🇺🇲
@NinoTheCorso3 жыл бұрын
@@AmericanStandardK9 I’m not arguing. Just changing the cause and effect. His hunger should be a result of his choice not to listen, instead of artificially restricting his food.

hmm... In my opinion, Royal Canine is one of the worst dog food kibble you can get for your money. For the same price, you can buy much better dog food. My dogs would do everything with a brand named "Frolic", I don't know, if it exists in the USA. But I know that this (Frolic) dog food is full of flavor enhancers.
@AmericanStandardK93 жыл бұрын
Again we only use it for the convenient size of the kibble. It's not particularly cheap but I've had bad experiences (poor quality control) with other brands. Royal Canin has been reliable. We feed our personal dogs a raw diet so I'm so about quality but it's not the easiest or cheapest food to train with raw.
