Watch Part 1 Here:
• Aggressive Rottweiler ...
This aggressive and out of control Rottweiler was on a course to seriously injure herself, her owner or others with her aggressive and reactive behavior. Her owner Frank, an elderly gentleman, has become unable to handle her and is desperate for a solution now. We provide that solution by giving the dog the correction it should have received long ago for completely unacceptable behavior. This is a large and powerful animal that is still growing. If we can't get her back under control and on the right path now then her future options start to run out.
I make absolutely no excuses for the correction this dog receives. This simple, mild 1 second correction literally solves her problem instantly and sets her back on the right course for the rest of her life. Afterwards, she was able to be around several other dogs and walk right next to one without any issues. Whereas before, you couldn't get within 5 or 10 ft of her with another dog or car without her firing off.
If you think this problem could be solved with treats, hugs and unicorn 🦄 kisses then unfortunately you are sadly mistaken. Thank you for watching!

My favorite line in your details : "If you think this problem could be solved with treats, hugs and unicorn 🦄 kisses then unfortunately you are sadly mistaken!" I have 2 big Rotties and when I went to training with them and learned how to properly use the prong collar, that quick yelp no longer made me feel bad for the dogs. It's a tool that has been so helpful to me.

Absolutely. The more you use the prong the less you have to use it. That's the beauty. Ultimately we love when it's on but never used because the dog understands to behave. But better to have and not need then need and not have

About like those pesky brakes & power steering on a large truck, you shouldn’t “need” them, just go out in traffic optimistic that you will always have the strength & time to stop or turn your truck. Sure, you may dent some bumpers and have accidents, but you have bottomless pockets to handle the lawsuits & increased insurance costs. But your truck isn’t a four legged family member that you could be ordered to euthanize if it bites or hurts someone because you didn’t take the precautions of having the tools to stop a potential situation in the first few seconds & stopping a behavior before it escalates. Not rocket science.

I agree. I have owned German Shorthaired Pointers and Boxers all of my life. I am now almost 75 and I can no longer keep up with the exercise needs of these two breeds. When I get my next dog it will be something that requires minimal exercise as well as minimal wear and tear on my shoulder, elbow, etc..

I love your channel/methods etc I am pushing 80 divorced and five failed spine surgeriees which ALL failed Before that I lived with one German Shepherd Dog at a time I trained them myself by going out in the woods twice a day and exhausting them then built a command vocabulary I loved it The last dog that I lived with was a police dog candidate who for some reason wound up with some woman who sold him to me He was a once in a lifetime best friend ie Cesar Milan Enzo was his name An extraordinary creature Very tall All black 100 pounds lean and we were together CONSTANTLY He passed away at age ten It is difficult to think about I constantly fight the urge to acquire another But I do not want to do a disservice to a dog because I can barely walk and I will die long before another dog The elderly man with a dog like that is a hot mess

Great job in helping this elderly man and his dog. I wish there were more Garret Wings out there. Good, therefore, that you are training assistants!

I love the stubbing toe analogy. However, if you have a Corso, maybe they don’t make any sound or reaction like mine because they are impervious to pain. I’m dealing with this problem right now and he doesn’t bat an eye to prong correction when he’s locked on a target

I love your videos and how you go in depth and how to correctly correct your dog. I do have a couple of questions though. I have a 1 year old doberman and she barks at people because I think she is scared and on high alert at all times. Its mostly people and not animals. They could be across the street, or we could be in a drive through, or just people getting in their car and she will growl or bark. Its really embarrassing. Any advice or tips? Thank you!

Hello. Sorry for my English. This is a translator. My dog behaves well with others. But she hates two dogs from our village. We met today and had nowhere to go. My dog went crazy on the prong. To hold her back, I raised the leash, I knew what was going to happen. We finally passed because she didn't calm down, I pulled the leash hard, the correction should have been strong earlier, but she didn't respond to small corrections and I didn't want people to judge me too much. So there was a stronger correction and she barked in shock ( I've never done it that hard), the correction was still at the moment when she did not calm down completely. After this correction, she didn't even look back at the dog we met. I don't have a problem with other dogs, but I do have a problem with the ones she hates. I wonder if my correction was unnecessary because I was late from the beginning because I was afraid of people's reaction. I know that if I already correct the dog, the correction must be stronger than her desire to attack, I did not achieve that.. Is it better then to avoid the correction if I am not capable of correcting as necessary.. I do not want small corrections provoke more aggression

I've got a very dominant 2yr unneutered ♂️ rescue Rott. Really high hardness level (doesn't care about pain when he's triggered). He really didn't give a rat's a-- when I corrected him hard with the choke collar. He would even cough after each correction, but still be hard- targeted on a dog or a critter, like he just didn't care. But now I'm using the Leave-It command (don't look at it) & a 2.25mm prong collar in black so it's less obvious. Lets me get his attention back on me BEFORE he goes nuts. I'm really strict with him paying attention to me when in public...I can use small, almost imperceptible mini-corrections with this prong so he stays in line & I don't need to use the yip-getting, sharper corrections when people are around. I also like to sit him & give him treats for ignoring people. (They say 'what a nice dog!' And while I say "Thank you!" I'm thinking 'you have NO idea how tough it is to get & keep him that way!') I find myself using more situational awareness & being more proactive. I try to set my dog up for success when in public, even if it means crossing the street. I can do the more challenging stuff when we're alone. Hope this helps. We can have regrets, but we shouldn't beat ourselves up over mistakes that we learned from & improved through.

Had a question I hope you see and can answer. My rottie used to be very alpha. He was super friendly with everyone and most dogs. He would from time to time find a young male (usually around a year or year and a half) and constantly try and mount and dominate just that dog. It didn’t happen often but he picked and chose. Also if another dog challenged him and tried to do that to him it was game on and he would never back down. Just curious if that’s because of his alpha nature or something I did or didn’t do? He listened and had very good recall and would break when on my command but would go right back to it like a fly to shit

I came across your video and liked what i seen. Im hoping you might be able to help me or guide me. I have a female Rott turns 4 thanksgiving. I got her just before covid hit and was unable to socialize her like ive done with my previous Rotts! Regretfully ive spoiled her but she still knows commands. Well i strated traveling for my work in the medical field. Prior to that she seemed to have anxiety not sure why how anything. But anyway she was a loving liked everybody kind of dog and now she snaps at people no matter what! She is stubborn but highly intelligent!! I tried to get her in a daycare for the socialization but they refused her because she snapped at an employee who was petting her. If i cant get her to stop i will have to get rid of her and I cant even think about that option!! Can you help? 😔

I had a bully and out shep rottie cross fight and smacked them both with a stick to get them to stop. I don't use punishment typically but it was less damaging then letting them fight. As I got to spend more time several years later they stopped when I roared at them. I used to use voice control with horses and cattle. It is effective in the right situations. It has to be loud, sharp and angry and rarely used, just like any physical intercession. Remember, parent dogs enforce when necessary. Humans, adults and children and animals need to learn the meaning of no and mannerly behaviour for society to function.

Do you have any videos on the channel about aggressive/dominant dogs that usually attack another dog in the same house? How to deal with it? It's two Border Collies males, I've neutered which is aggressive but incidents keep happening from time to time
@CatDogPOV
@CatDogPOV 2 ай бұрын
the same process. Indoors or not , leash em up and start training. Or use an E collar, the shock acts as the correction instead of the pull on the leash 👍. As soon as the aggressive behavior starts = correction. Soon enough your dog will associate that negative behavior with getting corrected and won’t do it anymore 👍

Good work, one thing i worry about is someone incorrectly trying to apply training the see in your videos and end up just beating their dog and making them worse. Like if this was tried on a super agressive, reactive dog that is terrified of people, wouldn't smacking the dog when it tries to bite you, just reinforce the idea that the dog is correct, people are indeed to be feared because they will hit you. You know what you are doing, but i fear some people will end up hitting a terrified dog for being reactive whilst it's not clear to the dog why it is happening. If the dog is trying to bite you because it's fearful and never got socialized, would you pop the dog right away? Or would you use other methods to make the dog trust you, and only pop as a last resort?

Are these collars okay to use on puppies- 12 weeks?
@AmericanStandardK9
@AmericanStandardK9 Жыл бұрын
It depends on the puppy, they're not advisable for very sensitive puppies. But strong, boisterous large-breed puppies (especially those that painfully bite and nip people) can benefit from a prong from the beginning. We recommend seeking local or online training to learn to use one correctly, our course The Perfect Walk can help you, diyk9.com
