There are a couple of small glitches I encountered with my S&B Cold Air Intake on my 2021 Ram, Rebel. There are 2 additional screws holding down the mfg, air box which were not mentioned in the video. There are only 2 noted in the video but there are 2 more from the bracket to the air box. Due to molding on the wheel well, I had no option but to "chew" off the 2 additional mounting screw, plastic nuts, for the mfg air box. My other option was to remove a bunch of fender molding. The box pulled off fine after that. The entire install took me 4 hours. BUT I'm 73 and I only have one working hand due to recent hand surgery and my wife of near 50 years was good enough to hold a wrench when needed. No complaints. I tested the truck and the hesitation I usually get upon acceleration was GONE! I felt more power! I'm certain! I previously installed a catback exhaust system. Now the "air pump" is a success. The S&B air filter is an integral part of that! Thank you.

This wasn’t too difficult of an installation. I do have to say the hardest part was removing the hose clamps since I didn’t have the red crowbar tool he was using. It took about 3 hours total from start to finish.

I did this on my lunch break at work. Was simple and easy. Had to rewatch install video to make sure I was right 😅

Hi, I've looked at various kinds of cold air intakes . Thy all seem to do th Sameas the others . I've found making my own cold air intake. Was fun, Informative and my truck breathes so much better. In my air box is a K&N panel filter, the air the box gets comes from a 4 inch opening . The air comes in via a tube that opens up to 5 inch from 4 inch. Lol it looks like a elephants trunk hanging down the factory box to where cooler air away from the engine. So much more power In take off . The only tube not changed out is the one from the engine. Seems fine for now.

First of all you need to disconnect the negative terminal off the battery which he didn't do.

Minute marker 14:08 says chrome line should be facing down was an error on my install the clamp wouldn’t hold it in place no matter how many times I tried to adjust it so I turned it and faced the chrome line up and BINGO 🎉 it held as tight as a glove. Hope it doesn’t affect anything

Recommended, I found that disconnecting the battery helps avoid the check engine light and helps reset the air reading saved on the computer. If you disconnect the battery before starting and reconnect when done. That should be just fine

Why not just get a non oiled filter. Same flow. Also for the pipe, they make stainless, carbonF and this plastic. For heat retention and build up. What’s best?

I followed all the steps I really liked the help but I have just one question as I said I followed all the steps I connected the sensors correctly but when I finished and started the car my ignition light came on. what do ? reset the computer?

Hi I just put a borla atak cat back system on my 2020 ram 1500 5.7 I was looking at getting a cold air intake to, do I need to upgrade my ecu or get it tuned? Thanks

I think earlier versions before Covid had the aluminum fittings. I got a crappy plastic one too…

Seeing as this is a closed box setup and has a snorkel in the front I’d say most definitely. Only difference from the factory version there would be less airflow restrictions..
