Are replacement filters widely available are they exclusively through SC?

The filters are cleanable... should never have to actually change one but if you do yes replacements are available. Also recommend using a pre-filter that goes over the filter if you are constantly in dusty conditions

I just put this exact (almost) unit in my 2012 RAM. There is one SOB bolt to remove the old stock and its easier to just pull the wheel well off half way to get to it. The install went great up until the pvc hose. My model is different and required a hose clamp to secure. Lastly put the filter on before you install the Hose & Box because it wont fit without forcing it.. maybe just my 2012. The instructions are in red with a ! regarding the Negative Disconnect. It took me over 3 hours but it always takes me longer doing this stuff then you guys. I took if for a short spin about 15 miles and once I hit the highway I had a smile from ear to ear. I kept the rubber side plate off mine and will install it as needed. The rumble and roar while accelerating is really cool. Cant wait to show my GF .. I am sure to get one of those cherished side looks and smile from her. If I get better gas millage well that's good too. Cool factor is a 10.

I run the S&B on my 2011 ram sport. I've ran air raid, K&N and this S&B is the biggest and best best built one and by far best performance fron a CAI is the S&B. Its a closed box.

I bought a S and B for my 19, but it was to big for my truck, becuz I got a oil catch can, so had to go with the K&N cold air intake..I so luv it and I think so worth the money!!

With these hemis it’s important to maintain where the box draws the air. The open filters draw hot air from the engine bay. These closed box systems Use the stock draw which is either from the front before the radiator or the wheel well which at idle is no worse than stock or a little worse but with any speed it’ll draw more air from the stock location meaning cooler air away from the engine, more power and more efficiency. Good choice!! Closed box systems are the ideal way to go on these modern engines 👍

Just make sure that you first take off the negative cable from your battery. If you don't, you'll get a check engine light after about two rides or as soon as you turn your vehicle on . He just forgot that one step. Great install bro.👍🏼

When I did CAI in my Hemi GC; I was disappointed initially. Sounded awesome! But I lost a ton of low end power. Then after about a week or 2 of driving, the engine came alive! It was like the ecu didn’t know what to do with all the additional air. Once the ecu re-mapped there was a noticeable difference.

@@drillerfn1177 maybe a little better throttle response?? Sound is debatable. Sounds good when not under load. When I pull my trailer, RPMs are little higher, therefore you hear more from the motor as a result. Honestly…not sure if I would spend the money on it again.

You forgot to disconnect the battery. By doing so you're letting the computer learn to run with the new intake. I for forgot to do that with my 2017 Ram and it ran Like Shit.

The oily issue that I have heard with the after market reusable filters, is that people over oil the filters and the excess oil ends up on the mass flow sensor which causes problems.

There r no oil issues if ya oil the filter right. Those people with problems use way to much oil when cleaning it. Never seen or heard a problem in 20yrs using one if oiled right.

It would have been better to do before and after chassis dyno test for true hp gains. Seat of the pants is not very accurate but your mileage gains look good. Next mod should be chrome plated muffler bearings (lol).

Hey Lucas. I’ve seen no check engine lights bc of the intake. I think the level of completeness really is a matter of opinion. I think an intake is a good modification because it can be a perfectly acceptable upgrade as a stand alone unit. It also serves as a good foundational element to build off of, being such a good compliment to a tune and exhaust should you decide to add that stuff down the road. Thank you for watching!

I am glad everyone is feeling something from their intakes! I installed an AFE Momentum GT intake, unlocked computer, and a Diablo 93 octane tune, and I am not sure if I feel any difference at all! I have a 2020 Limited with just the Hemi, no eTorque. I really miss my tuned 2018 Raptor!

@@donearl6675 it has been a few more months of driving since I posted this and I now would say it is hit or miss with feeling any extra power. Some days it doesn’t seem peppy but yesterday in cooler temps it was running like it had plenty of power. I didn’t expect the huge increase from a tune like I felt with my previous two boosted vehicles, my Roush Mustang picked up 125 horsepower going from the Roush tune to a custom dyno tune and my 2018 Raptor picked up 89-100 horsepower with a tune, but I really expected to feel a noticeable difference with the things I added to the Ram. Maybe if I put it back completely stock right now I would then be able to tell a big difference but who knows. I have had no trouble with the truck at all, so besides missing the power of my previous vehicles, it is a good truck.

Actually forgot about commenting on this post, I have since traded the Ram and am back in a Raptor and had it tuned the first week. I have been back in a Raptor since the beginning of June. I sometimes miss the smooth ride of the Ram and the big center screen but that is probably about it.

3.21 limited slip though, which is a fairly unusual combo. Guess that makes the tire chirp in the video that much more impressive! Edit: might not be as rare is I thought, looks like it’s the most common combo on the Limited. Looks like 3.92 on a Limited trim level is a super rare combo.
