star link ?
@cargovanconversion2 жыл бұрын
Hi David, I get that same question asked regularly. Starlink is perfect on paper, but for my purposes, there are three disadvantages. Besides the obvious cost, the antenna and receiver are fairly voluminous and inconvenient to store in my van. Lastly, when boondocking in forests or canyons, such I've done during my last trip to TN & GA, reception would likely be obstructed. A phone hotspot or similar has its own issues, but worked out reasonably so far; my future focus however is the West, where Starlink might have the advantage. A final decision maybe a combination of the two, or one of several other options that are coming online very soon, with larger satellites and/or satellite reception directly to a regular phone. The future is bright :) _Van Willams_

@@cargovanconversion This year many van folks out west have gotten the starlink setup The place it really shines is in rural mexico where cell service is spotty at best I dont have room for it either but in mexico people have been sharing at remote beaches

@@TobiasDuncan I also just read, that Starlink speeds will be substantially reduced and usage limited to 1T. That could be the beginning 😂
