Why do you have the 2018 version of the STEPS aid book..I don't understand, I thought you were done with that chapter of your studies..?
@barbarakabanos29896 жыл бұрын
Is STEP 1 something you have to write after every semester or year? (As I recall, you mentioned that it was a 2 year cumulative exam, but I don't understand how your test system works)... What are STEPs, do your classes end before you "book" your exam and before you begin studying for the exam? Also, how many classes are you taking per semester? Does your STEPs exam cover all of those classes? Thanks.

Congratulations on your score!!! I love watching your videos so much and I wanted to thank you for being such an inspiration. I’m not from America, so the system is quite different here - you can apply to med school straight after high school and study for 6 years and then go to residency afterwards. I always dreamed of becoming a doctor but doubted myself so so much that I went on to study languages, switched my major twice and starting working in IT on the side. I came across your videos at the time that I started to doubt my decisions and after watching you I realized that I need to change my major once again. I don’t feel as if the things I do right now fulfill me and after watching you - so positive and real, I decided to go to med school. I give myself 2 years to catch up on biology and all the subjects needed to get myself into med school. I started studying two weeks ago and even though it’s hard it’s also soooo much worth it. I never enjoyed studying this much. And it’s all thanks to you. So thank you so much and I hope you become a surgeon and get matched with your dream hospital :)

Congratulations America! I knew that you were gonna do great on this exam💪 And i know for sure that you are going to be a great doctor, not only because of your step score, but also because you have a big heart and a pure soul❤ I live in Turkey and i am a medical student, too. I've been struggling with so many things in life. Sometimes even i can't believe what i've been through just to stay in medical school. But like you said, I'm reaching for the stars and i'm doing my best to keep going. Last couple of years were really hard for me, i am stressed all the time, i have anxiety and some other issues. But i know "This, too, shall pass." Sorry for boring you with my problems but ever since i started to watch your videos i feel like i found a friend. I know this sounds weird but this is just how i feel. Whenever i feel down i watch your videos over and over again and i feel better. Yours is the only channel that i get notifications from, ever :)) I am not saying why i need the First Aid book because I wouldn't want you to deal with international shipping. But i am planning to take the usmle after i graduate. If i ever come to the United States, I would love to have a "soy milk cinnamon dolce latte"☕ with you :) I live in Izmir Turkey, if you ever feel like traveling Europe, visiting Greece or sth you should definitely see Turkey too🌸💜 And you should know that you'll always have a friend here... Wow this started out as a comment but turned into a letter :)) i guess i should say bye for now :) Best wishes to you🍀

@@satchinjoseph3509 not always. Med school is hard and complex. You migh pass but that doesn't mean you'll be a good physician. The greatest doctors usually have a personal reason to become a doctor not because they watched a person they don't know on the internet. That's why there's so many incompetent doctors putting people's lives at risk in the world. Because their motivations for it is not solid. One thing would be if the person said that America contributed to the decision but to say that she is the reason is worrying for sure.

You are such an inspiration! You have no idea how much you've helped me since the first day I started to watch your videos. I was so frustrated, almost depressed since I wasnt able to reach decent scores for residency, but then after watching your channel i've realized I wasnt giving my best, I wasnt trying hard enough, you've inspired me and instead of crying and thinking I was a failure I started every morning watching your instagram stories, watching you studying hard helped me to do the same. I'm an IMG (international medical graduate) and I wanna go to the US and take the steps, that's why I would love to have the latest ver. of FA. But there isnt better gift than what you've already gave me, motivation, believing in myself and for that and more I will always be grateful to you. I wish you the best success in the world! Thank you so, so, so, so much for this overview video. I spent months trying to figure out a plan for myself. Oh what the heck! I have spent a year trying to figure out the best routine for me! No one was able to give a firm idea as to how I should go about studying my for STEP. I had people tell me about all the resources you mentioned, BUT America...no one ever sat down with me and laid out a plan of action. You did that for me. I love your method. I have the USMLE and sketchy videos. Granted, I have class now. But once class is over this semester, I will know exactly what to do. And I will plan on half the amount of videos and 5 pages of FA and 5 Pages of I Do Not know for now considering my current MS2 classes. Thanks for telling me what to annotate on FA. This video was beyond helpful and I have you to thank for that. Thanks a TON!!! I really believe you are a gift from above. Cheers and well wishes as you prepare for that Surgery Residency!! @America

Congratulations America!! Thank you for making this video and really being so honest with your entire experience of medical school. It’s hard to see people and not compare yourself to people who are scoring around 245 or higher. Plenty of videos out there which tell you “how to score 250+”... but that’s not the most realistic way to show to an average student. You are on of the most honest hardworking medical student I have ever seen. You have shown that with hard work and dedication it is possible to get where you want and failures are way of improving. You are my inspiration. I am an incoming medical student and having first aid early on will help me because I would be able to annotate and use it during the school year. Medical school is expensive as it is and even deducting/spending 50$ can make or break your week. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for being you!!

Hello America! I love your channel, especially right now! I am in the process of studying for the MCAT, and watching your videos has helped me define my study plan for it! It is definitely no Step 1, but I am finding this incredibly difficult! I am an engineering physics student and I have not even thought about biology or most of the MCAT material since high school, if even at all! Studying for the MCAT is making me extremely nervous about medical school (if I even get accepted..) because I feel so far behind my peers who are taking health science related degrees (so getting a head start on USMLE prep when the MCAT is over would be great for me). However when I watch your videos it inspires me so much and makes me feel like I really can do it! You even inspired me to start an instagram to reach out to others on this journey. Congrats on being done Step 1!!

Hi America, First of all - absolutely brilliant score! I watched your previous videos showing your journey through Step 1, and it’s commendable seeing how much work and effort you put into it and I’m so relieved for you that you managed to get the score that you wanted and needed to pursue surgery! Like yourself, I’m a budding surgeon, hoping one day to work across in the US. I’m a British medical student and I just found out recently that I have passed my medical school finals, so I’m completely over the moon right now! I’ve been researching for a while now into taking the USMLE Step 1 and I’m aiming to start the revision alongside my residency jobs starting in August - it’s going to be tough, but having seen your videos, it’s given me the motivation and determination to crack on! Sending you all the luck with your upcoming exams, and best of luck finishing medical school and getting the residency jobs you hope for. Ben :)

Hi America!! Thanks for almost 30 minutes of pure positivity and motivation! I am going into 3rd year of med school in Macedonia (we start med school after high school) and I would love this book because I dream of taking the test in Greece and then being able to get licence to work in the states (I have spent my junior year of high school in Arizona as an exchange student and I've pretty much fallen in love with the states) . But if you come across a comment about a med student in the US or someone closer to taking the test (next year or so), maybe give it to them because I think they deserve it way more than I do. Thanks for reading. Sending you hugs from across the ocean! Thanks for inspiring me.

America you are an inspiration. A 237 is awesome and much easier said than done. I havent started med school yet, but i hope to score similarly. You have achieved much more than many people are capable of. That is something to be super happy about.

I wish to win this giveaway because each time I use that book I won’t just be learning from it. I’ll be reminded of everything you just said. It’ll motivate and inspire me, just like your videos do. To me it won’t be a tool but something more meaningful. Hope you know you do inspire people like myself. Good luck with everything you do in the future.
