This is a tribute video I made for my brother and sister firefighters. This song really hits home for me. It sounds as if the song in it was made for firefighters, though I know it wasn't. The song is "Soldier" by Gavin DeGraw. The lyrics sounds like every day life for us firefighters. I hope you all enjoy the video!

I'm a female volunteer firefighter and for me it's not about the praise or anything like that. I chose to put on those bunkers for a reason and a simple enough reason at that. To save the lives of those in need. I don't do it for myself. So I give thanks for ALL my brothers and sisters. That 911 dispatcher you called just notified the officers on duty. The officers make sure scene is safe for us. Officers then page out for fire and Ems FF enter the building pulls snow out your loved one EMS take over to save their life. We all work as a team.

Today we lost our chief . He was involved in MVA whole responding to a call. He has been in a Medical induced coma since feb. 2 and he passed away at 17:00 tonight. Keep our department and his family in our prayers.

My Dad was Fire Chief for a small volunteer Dept. back in the 1950's & 60's. I grew up riding the engine so I had a wonderful opportunity to see what really goes on at fires. I have nothing but respect for all firefighters. There is no greater sacrifice than to lay down one's life to save another. You have my respect and my gratitude....always.

I became a fireman as a volunteer. Just to help people..never got paid. but people have come to me and said, "Hello my name is so and so, do you remember me?, and I said I dont sorry...then he said I was trap under that car when it fell on me...Thank you for your help, I'm here today because of you...when I heard him say that I broke down into tears and told him it was my honor to help in his time of need"...then I went on to be a paid fireman for 22 years...now suffering with major PTSD, I'd do it all over again...

I was a volunteer firefighter for 35 yrs. now I am an Honorary Member, if someone to call me their hero that's fine I look at us this way their are hero's in the fire service, " we go and do the best we can do with what we have to do with" that saying boils down to training and the equipment we have to work with.
