ok between how little Rox and I knew about this area and how much you pack into the video i really could go on all day about this one so just a couple notes// "crowded" really is relative in the Parks, that's a funny one depending on where you are from and what you are used to... and to us some places "crowds" are well worth dealing with anyway, but yeah having grown up in NY, thr NY/NJ beaches are a whole other level of crowded... so many great underwater scenes, the beautiful beaches, the views.. we really enjoyed being there with you thanks so much for this great video

And another awesome video Randy. Love the color saturation, especially on the first few beaches. We love the virgin islands. We went to the British ones for our honeymoon. Tortola, jost van dyke, Gorda, and best of all 5 days on Cooper island. Which is like the British version of Saint John. It even has a haulovers beach too. The turtles are amazing and your footage is excellent. Before joining the army I went on a trip to the US Virgin Islands. And like you guys, I liked saint John the best. Randy, We really enjoyed this video! we agree on getting 4x4 for island tours, we had so much more fun that way. This reminds us a little of the Big Island of Hawaii, where your #1 tip of “getting to the beaches early” for parking is also true. Interesting that the NPS Pass is no good there. I doubt the snorkeling would have been worth it on your visit to Cinnamon Bay, as when the surf is up like that, the water near shore is full of silt and visibility is poor (unless you want to swim out far where the sharks are). Your snorkeling video is excellent, and the turtles were great! Turtles don’t move out of the way for snorkelers like the fish do, but so fun to watch. What a great time for you and Julie, and congratulations on 25 years! THANK YOU FOR TAKING US SNORKELING AND TO THE BEACH, . . . Mike

What an idyllic island! Glad you were able to venture to a new park and happy anniversary as well. You picked an ideal location to celebrate. Awesome timing on this video. We have been planning on doing the Florida Keys for what seems like forever. We just kept having to delay it for one reason or another. Out of curiosity awhile back, I looked at airfare and was really shocked at the low cost. So I have been tinkering with the idea of here instead of the Keys. I know it would be an easy sell to the family. My middle child would flip out if he saw a sea turtle let alone swim with them. Going to use your video as inspiration to see if it is a feasible option. Did you get a chance to go to St. Croix and see the other park sites?
@AmericasParks3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it was very affordable to get there - though groceries on the island were a bit pricy. For us from NJ, it was only a 4 hour direct flight. Off the US mainland, but a good trade-off to avoid the crowds that are often drawn to the Keys. All the best!
