Hello Bridgett and Julia, After Chris left the show I really thought the quality of the show was going to drop but you ladies have risen to the occasion. I think the show has never been better and that is NOT saying anything bad about Chris but you ladies are doing a great job. Keep up the good work. And thanks for posting shows here on youtube.

I have to agree. These ladies stepped up to the plate and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching their confidence grow. Nothing against Chris. But I am glad to see Bridgett and Julia grow. I L-O-V-E the friendship that so clearly undermines their relationship. OK only slightly jealous of that kind of a working/friend relationship. My best to them.

I'm from the town where that meat stew originated from. While the recipe is good, you usually add clove into the bouquet garni and the garlic goes in with the onion not separated. People also use a decent amount of lard and leave the stew going for at least 5 hours in low heat. Additionally, if you add quartered potatoes into the liquid in the last hour and a half of cooking they'll taste amazing. Good effort, though! It looks amazing!

Costco refrigerated pesto is amazing. That would have been the winner if you had included it. It blows yours out of the water and I know that because I used to buy Buitoni until I tried the Costco version. Sometimes, I will even add extra basil to it and I really can't tell it isn't homemade.

I made the quinoa stew- It was pretty awesome, but I'd recommend adding more than 6 cups liquid (let's say 7), adding more cumin/spices at the end, and no frozen peas. The peas are the only flavor that just doesn't seem to match the rest of the soup. (Or maybe my frozen peas were old?) try it!

I find that blooming spices doesn't actually affect the taste of the end product that much, it just gives you that initial aroma which is, admittedly, quite wonderful. And the last time I bloomed spices, everything in my apartment smelled like said spices for a week. I packed clothes to go home and they all smelled like chili.

Just a note: quinoa is NOT low in carbs. People will often say that, but it is not accurate. It has as many carbs as white rice. The benefit is it has the highest nutrition of all the carbs. And it raises blood sugar more slowly than other carbs.

For anyone wondering about Costco pesto-they’ve clarified in the past that they don’t generally include anything from Costco in their reviews, as it’s a membership grocery that doesn’t exist in all cities. They’re going for the brands they think anyone in the US may be able to get a hold of.
