For pancakes, I melt butter in the pan after the cake is cooked so that I can set the cake down in an even layer of butter, then set the other side of the cake on a plate that has maple syrup on it. It makes for an even distribution of butter and syrup over the entire pancake.

As for the use of baking soda to remove coffee stains, I remember using it to clean thermos flasks back when I worked in commercial kitchens. We simply poured in baking soda and then boiling/hot water, let it sit for a short while and finally rinsed the thermos out with clean water. Did wonders (damn there was a lot of coffee gunk in some of those thermoses) for the taste of the coffee being kept in those thermos flasks afterwards.

I add up to one cup okara for every 2 cups of flour in a pancake recipe. My family loves them. My husband said they were the best pancakes ever. So, if you make your own soy milk, or tofu, the leftover okara can add an amazing lightness to pancakes. We all thought it would make them heavier, but you don't notice the okara, just a good pancake. You can add it to a pancake mix, too. Blessed be, everyone.

As a child, and now an adult, it’s still one of my favorite things to have for breakfast. Mother used to make them from scratch and they were the best pancakes I’ve ever had. I tried to reproduce what I remember, and cannot. I will give this a try. Do you think I can use avocado oil? I don’t consume canola oil because it’s unhealthy. Also, will I get good results if I’m using almond milk? Thanks for sharing.

my favorite way to make scrambled eggs is what I call country scrambled - into the pan where I've cooked the bacon with all the brown bits still in there but I've poured off most of the fat, I just crack the two eggs, lil salt and pepper and immediately start stirring so you get little bits of white, little bits of yolk, cook and stir til just set and serve with hot sauce. yum!

Low-Medium heat. Butter in the pan. Beaten eggs into the pan. Gentilly mix until soft, large curds start forming. Add salt, pepper, chopped chives and a splash of cream. Cook and stir until the right consistency, depending on the pan -you may even turn the stove off. 14min is way too long, I'd be almost done washing/cleaning by then.

Very close to mine, except I put a tblsp of cinnamon, a tsp vanilla, and a tsp of almond extract into the batter. Sometimes I'll add 1/2 a tsp of nutmeg into the batter as well. I'll use buttermilk when I think to buy any., sometimes, for flavored pancakes I'll replace some of the milk, the cinnamon, and almond extract with a flavored yogurt. I also make a chocolate gravy for my pancakes for "special occasions", like it's a Tuesday, or family is visiting :)

First, whatever amount of butter your using, double it. Second, it's an art to getting the pan at JUST the right temperature. Not hot enough and they'll stick. Too hot and of course you'll burn your eggs. But it can be done. I cook them on All-Clad stainless. That's also part of it: a cheap pan will probably be a pain to try to get right.

All that said, I had to switch from my 10 inch skillet to my 12 inch skillet and to 10-12 eggs at a go since my kids just keep getting bigger. I am still trying to get it down as well as I had it with the 10 inch. They'd come out of the pan with only a little scattered sticking most of the time.

Ever since my Grandma left me her BH&G cookbook back in the early 90s, I have not used a boxed pancake mix. This pancake recipe is similar to my grandma’s, and my two daughters and my friends have asked me for the recipe, which I’m happy to share as the recipe is perfect. My bff/roommate will buy box mix and I’ll find it months later with mealy bugs in it. The scrambled eggs look like they’re raw, and my eggs have to be firm. Besides the pancake being set, another tip for knowing when to flip the pancakes is that a pancake has little air bubbles that will appear to be ready to pop. My bff/roommate will buy box mix and I’ll find it months later with mealy bugs in it. Where’s the link to buy the winning syrup dispenser?

Pancake recipe: Dry ingredient bowl: • 2 cups AP flour • 3 Tbls sugar • 4 tsp baking powder • 1 tsp salt • 1/2 tsp baking soda Whisk to combine Wet ingredient bowl: • 2 eggs • 1/4 vegetable oil Whisk until combined Add: • 1 - 1/2 cups milk • 1/2 tsp vanilla Whisk to combine Combine wet and dry ingredients. Whisk only enough to eliminate large lumps of dry ingredients; small visible lumps of dry ingredients is the optimal result. Let rest undisturbed 10 minutes. Cook on 350°F surface that has been well oiled.

Why does everyone hate on turkey bacon? I like Turkey Bacon, I like it's flavor and it's chew. It's not a replacement for reg. Bacon to be sure, but it's good as it's own thing.

Awesome, clumpy pancake batter, never knew that. Very good info. Thank you. I have made pancakes almost everyday since #stayhome. My favourite pancakes are with choc chips and then spread with peanut butter and maple syrup.

I can't do those eggs.. the runny soupy look grosses me out. But those pancakes, that's a different story all together. That's what we're having tomorrow for breakfast, with REAL bacon. Just curious though, can I use buttermilk instead of the regular milk in the recipe? Love your channel!

Buttermilk is thicker, so you need more, but I use buttermilk a lot. Makes a real difference, in my opinion.

If you use buttermilk, it reacts with the baking soda so the sitting time may give different result. The basic rule (I think) with buttermilk + baking soda is when they mixed together they start to make carbon dioxide bubbles right away so you should bake the batter as soon as it's mixed. But it's worth trying.

Terri Z just think of it this way. The eggs are fully cooked. They aren’t like the quick scrambled eggs that you either like to have very done or dry OR the soft scrambled eggs, my mother made to taste amazing. The French remember, take the time to do things slowly and deliberately. They wouldn’t think of dry scrambled eggs but they would think of cooking them thoroughly with a luxurious finish. You really might like them if you just take what you know about eggs and relearn the French way... don’t be 🐓 try the French Scrambled Eggs. It’s ok to like the old and the new way of doing a thing. 💗😄

I've made french style scrambled eggs using a double boiler and a lot of small bits of butter. Turned out well. I look forward to trying this method. I never know what is considered "low" on an electric range.
