Man får nog ha perspektivet av Povel Ramel, Hasse & Tage, Robert Broberg med flera för att förstå varför Galenskaparna och After shaves låtar blev så jätte-populära i Sverige. Låtar som leker med språket och musiken blir populära hos (nästan) alla mellan 5-105 år och får sin plats på "Svensktoppen". Kombinationen "Klurigt och Kul" är alltid ett vinnande koncept i Sverige. Kan det sen fungera som en allsång blir det odödligt!

Chanson (stress on second syllable) is French for "song", but also the style of very dramatic and emotional French songs. Jonathan, as someone else mentioned here, the most famous artist who sang "chansons" were the French singer Edith Piaf. Her songs were both dramatical and melancholic, sometimes only accompanied by a French "musette" accordion (just like here with Kjell Brel). The two main figures of Galenskaparna are the brothers Claes and Anders Eriksson. Claes is the one who writes most of their scetches and songs, he is a Magician of words and he is the one who sings Under en filt i Madrid. Swedish people (like me) love that song because the "lyrics" are so very funny 😍🤣

Aahh...Galenskaparna & After shave is what I grew up with. Claes (the singer) writes almost everything both lyrics and music for all their shows and skits. I have almost all.their dvds with lots and lots of old classics. :)

You have done some songs and jokes by GAS now, all of them are great classics. But my absolute favourite songs and most classic by them are 'Säng säng säng' and 'Bara sport'. The last one can be a litle hard to understand without the cultural basics; it's a version of the song 'Mucho gusto' by Percy Faith, always played as an intro for the sports at the national radio from 1961 to 2016. GAS added sport related lyrics in their version. Classic sketch numbers by GAS I recommend to check out is the collected videos (several very short sketches) with 'Farbror Frej' and 'Bara Ben', both from the TV-show 'En himla många program'.

Yes.. they are frome Gothenburg.. and we supose to have special humor here, to a big extens based how one use words with double menings?? They got famouse in Gothenburg.. so they tried it in Stockholm.. it was a catastrofy! In anyway they did "Macken" on TV.. and get famouse.. and everyone know, understand and accepted there take on Gothenburg/westcoast humor! Galenskaparna are actually from Trollhättan and the guys in After Shave are from a few different places. I think Jan Rippe grew up in Mariestad, Knut Agnred was born i Göteborg but grew up on Orust, Peter Rangmar grew up in Göteborg and Per Fritzell was born in Stockholm but he grew up in Göteborg.

I was in a school choir and requested songs by Galenskaparna & After Shave. The teacher than came with the lyrics and notes for this song. Problem is, the song in itself is not at all written for a choir. The melody on its own is super simple and repetitive, 'cause its whole thing is in the overly dramatic and emotional delivery from a solo singer. Just sung by a choir straight up, it gets super boring so it was no hit. And sadly Galenskaparna & After Shave never really got another chance in that choir.
