Oh bitter sweet nostalgia! I was a teenager when this song came. It was a real banger at that time. The footage brings back so many memories of warm summer nights, having fun hanging out with your friends, the sweet crushes… And as many other have pointed out, it felt really modern at that time.

Apart from loving the song, I love the video, both because I don't really get the skating bit, and because I have a soft spot for old Stockholm footage, and this video shows so much of what Stockholm looked like in the late 70s. Thanks for your video!

The singer Ola Håkansson was a member of Ola and the Janglers, one of Sweden's most popular band in the 60s, you should react to them. I suggest Alex is the Man, one of their original songs written by Claes af Geijerstam, 'Clabbe', who just as Ola have had a great impact on Swedish music.

Love seeing you react to Secret Service. Basically the brainchild of producer/singer artist Ola Håkansson, they are pretty much forgotten about today, which is a shame cause they cranked out some great tunes back in the early 80's, late -79 even!

I have Flash in the Night on a record called "Swedish classics". There is also "Blinkar blå" which is a super classic.

This song was so different and modern compared with other songs in 1979. Today it sounds synthetic, but it was amazing back then.

Äntligen Secret Service!! "flash in the night" är en riktigt bra disco hit all over the world. Denna gruppen har många bra låtar så som "ten o clock postman" etc. Keep it up!

I agree with the "mild banger", this is a good and classic song but not a big favourite of mine. Maybe it's because I was "much too young" at the time and don't remember when it was a big hit. I love your next choice!

"Aldrig ska jag sluta älska dig" är en låt från filmen "Livet är en schlager" (2000). Den är dock skriven av Jonas Gardell (som du säkert hört talas om). Jag skulle faktiskt rekommendera att du lyssnar på hans version. Obs, han är INTE nån sångare, men det det är så mycket känslor i hans version eftersom han verkligen menar varje ord. 😊

It's time you look in to swedish international hits. There has been quite a few making it in to Billboard, and some made no 1. Mayby you heard them already? Siw Malmqvist was the first swede to entry Billboard. Björn Skifs the first to reach no 1. ABBA, Roxette, Europe, Ace of Base coninued.

Hey Jonathan, you want a criminally underrated artist still in the present? Agnes. Try listening to Agnes - Fingers Crossed (Live at Late Night Concert). How can this woman get ZERO recognition? Or Loreen, or Laleh? It's ridiculous. They're all world artists. Then Molly Sandén, etc... a bunch outcompeting and outclassing most of the world music. It's not difficult to beat American coporate garbage music in quality.
