AMERSHAM IN OLD PHOTOS buckinghamshire by jason blackman

hi i spend a lot of time making these small films of when the days were a lot different. most of the photos are from old books or old post cards. i love doing this to show you how life was way back then. some people can not buy books or find things to do with local history so this is why i have done this for all of you.
i do not do this to make money in any way, it is just for free so i do hope you all like the small films i do as it takes a long time to do. i did use to live in SW London but now moved to bucks where i find this is much better for me and my family.

Fantastic! I really enjoy your videos. I am particularily drawn to this one as I have lived in both Old Amersham and Amersham On the Hill. it's amazing to see these wonderful old photos.

Thank you for this, I lived in Cokes Lane for 20 years and cycled every inch of Amersham for years to the Chapel next to the Kings Arms and heaps of friends around. Spent many summers around the misbourne river collecting stickle backs and hervines to watch the trains.

Hi there Jason, great stuff there Mate. Thanks for that, your film gave me a lot of the good old memories. I was brought up in the Amersham area until I was 13 yo, and I have written my story on the net for the future. Keep up the good work as I will be back. Anthony- I am the G.Grandson of William Weller, the Brewer... on my Grandmothers' side. I was wondering what you may have for photos and/or portraits of the Wellers? Richard was my mothers 2nd cousin, God Bless- and he sent me 2 photos of the portraits - William 1727, and his son 1764. (My 5th, 4th) I also have a photo of my mothers' Grandfather, (my 2nd-GGrandfather) William 'The Whirlwind" Weller- Champion lightweight boxer of Canada. I have none of my 3rd- HIS father, Charles. Charles was involved for a time in brewery operations, but I believe he had a falling out... rumor has it that he worked passage to Montreal, Canada aboard a ship, tending to horses...
