How to paint dandelions 1 - FAST and EASY - step by step

Amy Pearce of www.herartfromtheattic.blogspot.com teaches you how to paint dandelions in this fast and easy step by step tutorial.
You will need: dark green paint, light green paint, white paint, canvas, 3 different sized flat edge small to medium paint brushes. (As shown in video).
You can use either acrylic or oil paint. If you use oil paint-- you will need to wait longer in between layering for paint to dry.

No prob! These were flat edged brushes. Cheep ones, too. I prefer to use the synthetic brushes, usually.

dandelions actually have medicinal value. it's seen as a weed to most people but herbalists will tell you otherwise. Also a dandelion seeds (is what you painted) are also a symbol for miscarried babies. On a subject of painting; beautifully done. ⚘

I tried Oil for the first time now.. background is done... would you recomment to paint with a white pencil (you put a little in water) to draw the flower first? I'm scared to start paintin and it will looks bad..

"Fuzzy" dandelions like that are called "clocks". The starry bits are the tops of the seeds. lol I've been working on a painting of yellow dandelions but then couldn't get the clocks to come out right. This was a big help.

Tried to do this but my paint doesn't flow well on canvas so ended up with thick lines , what paint do you use , it just flows so well , maybe I've a shaky hand,, do I need to mix with more water, also what size brush did you use , I used my smallest but lines still messy ,maybe mine are too soft, love your work ,you make it look so easy .thanks in advance :)

***** Add water to the paint in order to make it flow over the canvas a little easier. Not a lot, go from the cup, to the paint, to the canvas. Always mix the water into the paint before applying.
