Ames Moot Court Competition 2004

The case Amy Annis, et al., v. The State of Ames was argued on November 18, 2004, at the Ames Moot Court Competition. The presiding judges were Hon. Ruth Bader Ginsburg '56-'58, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court; Hon. Richard Paez, U.S. Court of Appeals for The Ninth Circuit; Hon. Reena Raggi '76, U.S. Court of Appeals for The Second Circuit.
The Ames Competition, held in the historic Ames Courtroom of Harvard Law School, is one of the most prestigious competitions for appellate brief writing and advocacy in the country. The students participating in the Final Round started the competition in fall of their 2L year. Two teams progressed to the Final Round through their strong research abilities and excellent written and oral advocacy.

1st Guy-the best one out of very bad finalists. 2nd guy-not sure he even knows what he's talking about. 3rd guy-Painfully bad to watch (especially the hand theater) considering he makes no real arguments and just asserts a confidence wholly unsupported by talent or expertise. 4th guy-embarrassed himself but wasn't as painfully bad as 2 and 3.
