I thank you for giving. I just applied and got this card. The main reason I got this card is I don't have to use the credit card websites and order the travel and plan my trips. I think it's more beneficial and you can get better prices on your trips. If you have the ability to choose wherever you use it instead of one particular website, it's a huge savings

Great video, Joe! It’s refreshing to hear a great perspective on what might be a more useful card for some people than the Gold. I don’t have any of Amex’s personal MR point earning cards, so I could start by getting the Green’s bonus. I’m also hoping that the Biz Green will be refreshed this year. I have an Amex Business Trifecta: Biz Plat, Biz Gold, and BBP. They’ve all served me well. One of the nice things about the Business cards is that there are far fewer credits to manage than the personal ones. And I’d argue that the Business card credits are better than the personal card ones because Business card credits likely cover expenses you would’ve had anyway.

The Green Card is phenomenal. If they added a basic Priority Pass Select (where you have access to lounges for a fee), this would be the perfect travel and dining card.

So right. It has been beyond me why anyone would have the gold card really as that 1x difference in its limited range doesn't justify it. Especially for the cost. The best part with the Greed Card is that all of those multipliers are things you use when abroad and has no international currency fee. This IS the only "true travel card" for Amex, and certainly is the perfect compliment to the Schwab Platinum.

Say you add the $150 fee for the green to your annual fee for the platinum but now with the one platinum card you have all the benefits of both. One account, one card, one inquiry to your credit report, and one line of credit.Seriously!!!

Parking in The City is so expensive that the last two times that I went to a doctor’s appointment in Manhattan that I booked a Hyatt for the night and got free parking as a Globalist. And used a Lyft to get around. Less stressful and I didn’t have to pay for parking or fight rush hour traffic.

I tried to add the Green last year with the 60k offer but was in PUJ, but then got the gold with the 90k offer. The green credits dont work for me, whereas i am able to use the gold credits very easily and it is a points machine for a family of 5 with 3 teenagers! I honeslty dont see getting rid of the gold until maybe Im an empty nester. 🤷🏾‍♂️

You can use the every day, or the everyday preferred or the blue business plus as your grocery card in place of the gold card. Especially with the gold card annual fee increase. I’m gonna If Amex approves me every day card. If my grocery amount increases, then I would go for the everyday preferred. If I go past the $6000 and since I don’t have a player two, then it would be best for me to reacquire the gold card. Especially being a single male with no kids and never been married.

Rob, I hear you ! That was the issue I had in January in addition to the $195 annual fees for each authorized user! It was a bit steep! I needed to make a cut and I did by getting rid of the Gold. Jae, there are so many things you can eran 3 x on for the card. You should try to make it your main card by applying it to these categories. Get triple the Membership Rewards® points for travel-related purchases such as airfare, hotels, cruises, tours, car rentals, campgrounds, and vacation rentals. Get triple the Membership Rewards® Points on various transit purchases like trains, taxicabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways. The American Express® Green Card offers up to $189 in statement credits per calendar year for CLEAR Plus membership fees paid through auto-renewal. On the Clear membership you will essentially wipe out the annual fee for the card. It is my most used card! Let me know if you have any other questions! Take care!

Yo!! I just realized today that I only have one Amex consumer card and it’s the Amex Gold Card and the only reason that I still have it is that Amex gave me a $200 retention offer. I’m on my second year of Popup jail with Amex for consumer cards. Their consumer cards aren’t compelling enough for me right now to take up a 5/24 slot.

What’s going on?! How are you ? They are great cards but for Costco I just use either the Ink Preferred or the Sapphire Preferred because they are Visa cards that Costco accepts. As for Target, I use any card that I need to meet a sub on . lol. Nothing specific, sometimes I will use a card that I want to boost points like the Ink Unlimited 1.5x or Blue Business Credit Card 2x. Thank you as always for watching and for your support! The Wells Fargo card is appealing because there is no annual fee and now it seems like they are getting transfer partners but Clear seems like a good benefit. Hi Sylvia!! I wanted this card last summer when the bonus was 60k and $200 statement credit. I was in Pop up jail and couldn’t get it. I got it now with no bonus because I needed a points earner card with Amex and this offers a wide array of options. The Clear credit is huge in my opinion. $189 a year to cover the cost that I would use anyway is a great bonus. The Wells Fargo Autograph is a great card. For $0 annual fee it’s amazing! The only thing I am waiting for is for them to offer better transfer partners before I get the card. To me it’s an even better card than the Autograph Journey. It has many categories at 3x. The Robinhood Gold Card coming out (I have the link on my channel page) is also set to offer 3x on everything! That has the possibility of being an amazing card. @@ThecreditcardconnectionThe citi card gets used for gas (2x) which isn't covered by Amex in terms of earning MR points. I am partial to American so it makes complete sense for me. It does offer one free checked bag for you and others in your party (up to 4 people), group 5 boarding. To me, although MR points are gold, American miles are also valuable. Every dollar we spend earns either MR points or American miles. I typically fly business so I am usually group 1 but is nice to know I will never be group 9! 😂😂😂😂

Oh and after watching your video what made me think cuz I like the gold card. I think the gold card is really good at standalone, but if you have a platinum too, I feel like the green and the platinum work better together then basically having a gold and platinum and spending that much a of an annual fee. I don't have the platinum I just have the gold and I used the credits on it. Basically whenever I'm running around I get coffee or whatever so I just order one when I'm on the road and just go pick it up so I'll either do it through Uber or GrubHub and pick it up cuz I was going to get the coffee anyways so that's how I've always used it. But yeah I feel like green and Platinum work the best together. And if they change the annual fee on the cold and not subsidize the increase, I'll probably just downgrade to the green. I don't use clear. I don't even know what the hell it is really lol I don't fly enough to take advantage of it yet but I plan It's a flight to Puerto Rico in February​@@Thecreditcardconnection

I have been saying this for years the worst mistake Costco made was ending their relationship with Amex. Also its amazing how much they have revamped the green card and the platinum as well. But the Gold just isn't what it used to be. Its still a great card but, a 1x boost in categories for almost tripling the annual fee. Thanks but no thanks.

Thank you for this very informative info. I just got approved for Amex Delta Reserve and am unsure if either the green or gold made sense just to transfer those earner points to Delta. I just got it for access to SkyLounge and Centerium, priority boating and seat upgrades. After that, I’m going to need anther for daily use. This one is clutch with those perks.

Hi Steve!! That Delta Card is 🔥🔥🔥. To be honest it will depend on where you put most of your spend. If you dine out a lot and go grocery shopping the Gold is the choice. If you dine out and spend. Ore on travel, buses, trains , parking, tolls and Uber. The Green is a beast. I’m in Florida now and am abusing the Green card! Lmao! Then you can transfer all those points to Delta.
